LAFAYETTE — Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns swept the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week awards, as announced by the conference office Monday.

True freshman running back Tyrell Fenroy was the SBC Offensive Player of the Week, senior linebacker Tyler Norman was the SBC Defensive Player of the Week and senior kicker Sean Comiskey was named SBC Special Teams Player of the Week for their efforts this past Saturday in the Cajuns 31-28 overtime homecoming victory vs. Troy.

Fenroy turned in the fourth best rushing performance by a true freshman in school history with 156 yards on 27 carries. The St. Charles Catholic product scored three rushing touchdowns. He joins teammate Derrick Smith as the only freshmen to be named SBC POW this year.

Norman registered his first career interception and also posted nine total tackles. The Cajuns turned Norman’s pick into seven points and a 20-0 third quarter lead.

Comiskey, an Archbishop Rummel graduate from LaPlace, made only one field goal, but after missing an extra point and a 44-yard attempt earlier, he composed himself to kick the game-winning 40-yard attempt in overtime.

The individual Sun Belt weekly honor is the first this season and sixth of Comiskey’s career, giving him the most Player of the Week awards in SBC football history.
