NORCO – Louis W. “Bucky” Ayme, 85, a native of Garyville and a resident of Norco, died Oct. 22.

He was the husband of Lucy K. Ayme.

He is survived by his children Richard “Dick” (Katherine) Ayme and Dana and Kathy Ayme.

He is also survived by his sisters Mildred Stein and Joyce Oubre, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Harold, Arthur and Chester Ayme.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norco, with interment in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.

H.C. Alexander Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. at the church.

CATOIRE

RESERVE – Gladys Madere Catoire, 92, a native and resident of Reserve, died Oct. 22.

She was the wife of the late Leo J. Catoire Sr.

She is survived by her children Leo “L.J.” Jr., Wilfred “Skinny” and George Catoire.

She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great great -grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wilfred and Louise D. Madere and children Priscilla C. Richard, Bruce Catoire and Diana C. Trosclair.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

Millet-Guidry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 8 a.m. at the funeral home.

DAVIS

BOUTTE – Caldonia B. Davis, 65, a native of Edgard and a resident of Boutte, died Oct. 20.

She was the wife of the late Lawrence Davis Sr.

She is survived by her children Susan Poree, Evelina Diggs, Lawrence Jr., Leroy Sr., Michael, Anthony, Andrew Sr. and Michelle Davis.

She is also survived by her siblings Aldonia Grows, Clara Herbert, Josephine Jackson, Thelma Jarrow and Milton Brown, 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two godchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alma Johnson and Thomas Brown.

Services were held Oct. 25 at St. Anthony of Padria, Luling, with interment in Bethlehem Cemetery, Hahnville.

DUFRENE

LULING – Roosevelt “Rooster” Anthony Dufrene, 84, a native of Morgan City and a resident of Luling, died Oct. 21.

He was a former President of the St. Charles Parish Police Jury.

He was the husband of the late Dora Adams.

He is survived by his children Brian (Roxanne) Dufrene, Leon (Margaret) Barnum and Kathleen (Ronald) Horn.

He is also survived by his sister Josephine D. Bergeron, 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wilton and Teresa Picataccio Dufrene and a daughter Tura D. Ruiz.

Services were held Oct. 24 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands, with interment in the church mausoleum.

GRAY

LAPLACE – Gladys Y. Gray, 90, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Oct. 22.

She was the wife of Nelson Gray.

She is survived by her children Dorothy W. Williams, Joyce S. Randall and Linda (Larry) Joseph.

She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren and three godchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Primilla and Joseph Young.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church, LaPlace, with interment in Providence Rest Haven Cemetery, LaPlace.

Hobson Brown Funeral Home of Garyville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. at the church.

HYMEL

RESERVE – Rose Mae Triche Hymel, 77, a native of Reserve and a resident of New Orleans and Metairie, died Oct. 21.

She was the wife of Clement E. Hymel.

She is survived by her children Glynn M. Hymel, Debra (Joseph) DiLeo and Angela (Donald) Songy.

She is also survived by her brother Donald Triche, grandchildren Judy H. Brouillette, Steven, Donna, Michael Hymel, Joey and Ryan DiLeo, Nicole and Donny Songy and Great-grandchildren Sean, Jason and Andrew Brouillette.

She was preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Edith Englade Triche and her siblings Maurice Triche Jr. and Mary Ann T. Kliebert.

Services were held Oct. 25 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment in St. Peters Cemetery, Reserve.

KUGLER

LAPLACE – May Catoire Kugler, 89, a native of Reserve and a resident of LaPlace, died Oct. 22.

She was the wife of the late George Frederick Kugler.

She is survived by her children Rosalind Kugler Motichek and George Frederick Kugler Jr.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.

SCHMIDT

LAPLACE – Clarence “Bill” Schmidt, 94, a native of Milwaukee, WI. And a resident of LaPlace, died Oct. 6.

He was the husband of the late Olla May Shelly Schmidt “Hope.”

He is survived by his siblings Lester, Loraine, Betty and Elenore Schmidt.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and friend Ruby Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Martha Schulz Schmidt and his son Gerald C. Schmidt.

Services were held Oct. 22 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, LaPlace, with private interment.
