St. Peter Fest hosting fun in Reserve

RESERVE — The St. Peter Fest continues this weekend at the St. Peter Catholic School in Reserve, welcoming friends and families back for some fun.

The school is located at 188 W. Seventh St., Reserve.

Today’s activities begin with a fun-run/walk, starting at 9 a.m. A gumbo cook-off will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., with the gumbo served at 6 p.m., following the award presentation to the top chef.

Kingsroe will entertain from 8 p.m. to midnight, and a Game Trader tournament is also scheduled.

On Sunday, a volleyball tournament is scheduled, starting at 9 a.m.

The children’s Harvest Pageant is due to start at 10 a.m., with admission at $2 for adults and $1 for children. Age categories and times are: Baby Miss, 5-11 months, 10:30 a.m.; Baby Master, 5-11 months, 10:50 a.m.; Tiny Tot Miss, 12-17 months, 11:10 a.m.; Tiny Tot Master, 12-17 months, 11:30 a.m.; Lil Tot Miss, 12-23 months, 11:50 a.m.; Lil Tot Master, 18-23 months, 12:10 a.m.; Toddler Miss, 2-3 years, 1:15 p.m.; Toddler Master, 2-3 years, 1:35 p.m.; Lil Petite Miss, 3 years, 1:55 p.m.; and Petite Miss, 4-5 years, 2:15 p.m.

Kings and queens will receive a custom medal, crown and sash. Runners-up, photogenic, fashion, prettiest smile, hair and eyes awards will also be presented.

Baked chicken is on the menu for the Sunday luncheon, with serving due to start at 11 a.m. A St. Peter student talent show is also set for 1 p.m., with a horseshoe tournament starting at the same time.

A cakewalk is planned at 3:30 p.m., and a parade of prizes and raffle winners is due to start at 6:30 p.m. Misbehavin will entertain that evening, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Pay-one-price ride bracelets are available from Rebel Amusements at $40 each, good for the entire weekend. Special $20 POP tickets are also available each session.
