BATON ROUGE — Displaced Louisiana state employees must contact their employer directly or call the Department of State Civil Service Toll-Free Hotline at 1-866-783-5462 no later than Sept. 30.

Employees who do not call in may not be paid after Sept. 30.

There were about 28,000 displaced state employees in the 11 parishes affected by Hurricane Katrina in South Louisiana.

Many state employees have contacted their state agencies.

However, there are still many displaced employees who have not contacted their agencies.

Those missing state employees should contact their employer immediately or call the Civil Service hotline.
