LUCY – Harry Antonio, a native of Taft and a resident of Lucy, died Sept. 7. He was the son of the late Mable Ruffin and Oscar Antonio.

He is survived by his siblings Edgar Antonio, Walter James, Joseph, John and Lilly Ruffin and Marie Isaac.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Oscar Jr., Albert, Alvin, Isiah and Evelyn Ruffin.

Services were held Sept. 17 at Philadelphia Baptist Church, Hahnville, with interment in Greenhill Cemetery, Taft.

CARR

LAPLACE – William Denis Carr, 54, a resident of Hammond and LaPlace, died Sept. 15. He was the husband of the late Bonnie Hymel Carr.

He is survived by his children Jennifer Gaudin, Casey, Kelley and Aaron Carr.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, four brothers and 10 sisters.

Services were held Sept. 19 at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, with interment in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.

FISHER

LAPLACE – Lionel George Fisher Sr., 85, a native of Bunkie and a resident of LaPlace, died Sept. 18. He was the husband of the late Ruby Chenevert Fisher.

He is survived by his son Lionel Fisher Jr.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Lionel “Lonnie” Fisher III and Allison Fisher.

He was preceded in death by his parents Valery and Callie Ganson Fisher and siblings Lulee Dennis and Lottie Geers.

Services will be held today at 4 p.m. at LaPlace Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart Association are appreciated.

HILL

BOUTTE – Wilbert T. “Bill” Hill Sr., 77, a native of Paradis and a resident of Boutte, died Sept. 13. He was the husband of Geraldine D. Hill.

He is survived by his children Gwendolyn Scott, Regina Hill, Mathilda Alexander and Garland Hill.

He is also survived by his siblings Roland, Donald and Warren “Nick” Hill, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Airy Baptist church, Boutte, with interment in Mt. Airy Memorial Park Cemetery, Boutte.

Robottom Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is before the service at the church.

ROUSSEL

PAULINA – Robert Emmett Roussel, 82, a native and resident of Paulina, died Sept. 14. He was the son of the late Frank and Eleonore St. Pierre Roussel.

He is survived by his siblings Shirley Lee Roussel, Francis Roussel, Charles Roussel and Grace Roussel Taylor.

He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.

Services were held Sept. 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment in the St. Joseph Mausoleum.

TILLMAN

BOUTTE – Emma Tillman, 74, a native of Boutte and a resident of Harvey, died Aug. 28. She was the wife of the late John Tillman.

She is survived by her children Amanda Vincent Jolly, Lloyd Jr. and Perry Edward Vincent.

She is also survived by her sisters Ada Coleman and Leola Dukes and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Daisy Edwards Sandolph and Zely Mayers, stepfather Joseph Sandolph Sr. and siblings Octave Williams and Joseph Sandolph Jr.

Services were held Sept. 17 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Boutte, with interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Boutte.

TRICHE

AMA – Velma Triche, 78, a native and resident of Ama, died Sept. 14. She was the wife of the late Earl Louis Triche Sr.

She is survived by her children Earl Jr., Diane, Darrell, Gregory, Pamela Clark, Kenneth, Bernard, Ronald and Brian Triche.

She is also survived by her sister Elsie Brown Dyer, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Noble and Florestine Rollins Gross.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ama, with interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft.

Robottom Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. at the church.

WILLIAMS

KILLONA – Sedonia Williams, 74, a native and resident of Killona, died Sept. 10. She was the daughter of the late Rose Hopkins and James Williams.

She is survived by her children Donna R. Green, Yolanda Young, Enola Downing, LaVerne Johnson, Gaynell Williams, Edrington Raymond Jr., Foncello Lewis, Shelia, Pamela, Althea, Devery, Bradford and Stacy James Williams.

She is also survived by her sister Mary Johnson, 37 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Sept. 17 at Canaan Baptist Church, Killona, with interment in the Greenhill Cemetery, Taft.

WOODS

DESTREHAN – Melvin A. Woods III, 31, a native and resident of Destrehan, died Sept. 11. He was the son of Jacquelyn Bolden Burrell, Lloyd Burrell and Melvin A. Woods Jr.

He is survived by his children Devaugh Colly and Justin Sampson.

He is also survived by his siblings Lloyd Burrell Jr., Fabian Woods Sr. and Corey Burrell and grandson Corine Burrell.

Services were held Sept. 19 at Antioch Baptist Church, Boutte, with interment in Shell Mound Cemetery, Des Allemands.
