EDGARD – Mildred “Moonie” Joseph, 67, a native of Edgard and a resident of New Orleans, died Aug. 18. She was the daughter of the late Leroy and Almegia Simon Joseph.

She is survived by her children Kevin Joseph, Byron, Arthur and Jeffery Harper Sr. and Troy Baker.

She is also survived by her siblings Warren Joseph and Lillian Porce, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister Gloria Butler.

Services were held Aug. 23 at St. David Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment in Young Cemetery, Edgard.

LEWIS

BOUTTE – Hubert Lewis Jr., 76, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Boutte. He was the husband of the late Irene Lewis.

He is survived by his children Vanessa (John Van Buren) Lewis, Sharon Williams, Shelia Sandolph, Atheta Pardo, Deborah (Myron Mott, Sr.) Lewis and Lisa (Dedrick Sr.) Coleman.

He is also survived by his siblings Juanita L. Harris, Geraldine Kelly and Milton Lewis and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert Lewis Sr. and Annie Stevens Smith and a brother Leroy Lewis Sr.

Services were held Aug. 22 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Boutte, with interment in Providence Cemetery, Metairie.

ZERINGUE

PAULINA – Josephine “Josie” Babin Zeringue, 81, a native of Paulina and a resident of Gonzales, died Aug. 20. She was the wife of the late Earl J. “Pete” Zeringue.

She is survived by her children Earl J. “Butch” Jr. and Keith M. Zeringue, Brenda A. Garcia, Barbara Z. Accardo, Peggy Z. Oubre and Maureen Z. Hebert.

She is also survived by her siblings Cyril J. Babin and Olivia B. McLean, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cyril and Olivia Babin and a sister Marie Louise Babin.

Services were held Aug. 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
