VACHERIE – Charles “CoCo” Adams, 59, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Hawthorne, CA, died Aug. 13. He was the husband of Janice Adams.

He is survived by his daughter Chermaine Adams.

He is also survived by his siblings Bobby Adams, Alice Joseph, Hattie Honore, Cecile Adams and Joyce Adams and an aunt Louise Schexnayder.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Jeff, Roy, Ulyssess and Peter Adams.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment in the church cemetery.

The Baloney Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

BARR

LULING – Marsha Morton Barr, 52, a native of Hazard, KY and a resident of Pearl, MS and Luling. She was the wife of Dennis E. Barr.

She is survived by her children Stephen A. Barr and Shelby L. Barr.

She is also survived by her siblings Mike Kunst, Deanne Butler, Michelle Harvey and Melinda Sifford.

Services were held Aug. 19 at Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero.

DEWHIRST

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Tracie Beck Dewhirst, 31, a native of Luling and resident of Sanford N.C., died Aug. 6. She is survived by her husband, Edward Dewhirst and daughters, Kelsey and Cheyenne Dewhirst along with her mother, Denise Beck; father, Robert Beck, sister, Sheri Beck and nephew Gavin Donovan.

She was a graduate of Hahnville High School and was a licensed day care provider and cosmetologist.

Services were held Aug. 11 at Lafayette Funeral Home in Fayetteville, N.C.

RAYMOND

HAHNVILLE – Vera J. Raymond, 83, a native and resident of Hahnville, died Aug. 15. She was the wife of the late Alfred Raymond Sr.

She is survived by her children Norbert and Jerry Gair, Yvonne Gair Wolfe, Alfred Raymond Jr., Horace Raymond Sr., Janet Raymond Elloie, Billy Raymond Sr., Carl Raymond Sr. and David Raymond Sr.

She was also survived by her siblings Oliver Smith and Rev. Albert Smith, 34 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 35 great great-grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at True vine Baptist Church, Hahnville, with interment in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.

Robottom Mortuary of Reserve is in charge of arrangements. Visitation at the church begins at 9 a.m.

SCOTT

LAPLACE – Ranae Elizabeth Toney Scott, 32, a native of Reserve and a resident of LaPlace, died Aug. 11. She was the wife of Kendrick Scott.

She is survived by her children Kendrinecia, Kendrick Jr. and Keilah Scott.

She is also survived by her parents Eddie Washington and Barbara Toney, a sister Joy M. Toney and mother and father-in-law Barbara Anthony and Whitney Scott.

Services were held Aug. 18 at Milesville Memorial C.O.G.I.C, LaPlace, with interment in St. Peter Catholic Church Cemetery.

STEWART

EDGARD – William “Simple Simon” “Junior” Stewart Jr., 68, a native of Edgard and a resident of New Orleans, died Aug. 11.

He is survived by his siblings Ellis, Arnold, Norvin and Charles Stewart, Audrey Dumas, Beatrice Burton, Jenevla Stewart, Laura Williams and Madeline Stewart.

Services were held Aug. 18 at Spiritual Sunlight Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Edgard.

WIGGINS

LUTCHER – Michael “Mike” Wiggins Jr., 62, a native and resident of Lutcher, died Aug. 14. He was the father of Kimberly Gant.

He is survived by his siblings Joyce, Charles, Kerry and Roland Lee Wiggins and a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents Michael Sr. and Octavia Campbell Wiggins and siblings Josephine Fluence, Isabella Taylor, Bobbie and Joseph Wiggins.

Services were held Aug. 19 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment in the church cemetery.
