AMA – Virgil Brown, 75, a native of Kentwood and a resident of Ama, died Aug. 1. He was the husband of Beatrice Zeringue Brown.

He is survived by his children Wanda (Walter) Hebert, Delcie (Ron) Adams, Wade Brown and Ricky Brown.

He is also survived by relatives Kelly Brown and Leo Ricks, eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Alma Dillon Brown, siblings Delcie Hyde, Maxine Ricks and Zula Walls.

Services were held Aug. 3 at the Bible Center Church, Luling, with interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft.

BRULET

GARYVILLE – Robert P. Brulet Sr., 81, a native of Garyville and a resident of New Orleans, died July 31. He was the husband of the late Victoria Tortorella Brulet.

He is survived by his children Robert Jr., Paul and Douglas Brulet, Lelia Brulet and Amy Brulet Dix.

He is also survived by his sisters June Mattix and Iris Scioneaux and five grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 5 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, with interment in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, Metairie.

CADARD

AMA – Jason Matthew Cadard, 24, a native of Metairie and a resident of Ama, died July 31. He was the son of Louis August Cadard III and Suzanne Henderson Moriarty.

He is survived by his brother Brad Cadard and half sister Kaitlin Cadard.

He is also survived by his grandparents Louis Cadard Jr., Marie Kahael Cadard, Donald and Mary Spiegal Henderson.

Services were held Aug. 4 at Geisler Funeral Home Chapel, Ponchatoula, with interment in Sand Hill Cemetery, Ponchatoula.

JOHNSON

RESERVE – Darren Sherrod “Rook” Johnson, 34, a native and resident of Reserve, died July 29. He was the fiancé of Shonna McKinney.

He is survived by his children Danielle Evans, Shondreka, Kaiza and Kayla Johnson, Darren Evans and Mason King.

He is also survived by his parents Louis and Dianne Johnson and one grandchild.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Greater New Plymouth Rock Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment in Zion Travelers Cemetery, Reserve.

Hobson-Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation at the funeral home begins at 9 a.m.

LANCASTER

PARADIS – Burt J. Lancaster, 49, a native of Theodore, Ala. and a resident of Paradis, died July 29. He was the husband of Audrey Dasch Lancaster.

He is survived by his daughter Tiffany Ann Lancaster.

He is also survived by his siblings Ronald L. Lancaster Sr. and Sharon L. Banas.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tracy D. Sr. and Irene Gros Lancaster and one brother Tracy D. Lancaster Jr.

Services were held Aug. 5 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Paradis, with interment in the St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.

PETIT

AMA – Ronnie Raymond Petit Sr., 58, a native and resident of Ama, died Aug. 2. He was the husband of Pam Breaux Petit.

He is survived by his children Ronada (Daryl “Deckie”) Breaux and Ronnie Raymond Petit Jr.

He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Rose Zeringue and grandchild Tristyn Louise Breaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hilton Lawrence Petit Sr. and Rose Elizabeth Robert Petit and siblings Patricia Ann Eusea and Hilton Lawrence Petit Jr.

Services were held Aug. 5 at Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna.

RESPESS

NEW SARPY – Mary Brunson Respess, 70, a native of South Carolina and resident of New Sarpy, died Aug. 2. She was the wife of William R. Respess.

She is survived by her children William A., Richard A. and Shannon K. Respess.

She is also survived by her sisters Ruth Soberanski and Betty LaCatina and grandchildren Devin Robert, Colin Ford Fleming and Rachel Alyse Respess.

Services will be held today at noon at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, with interment in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.

STADLER

LAPLACE – Dudley A. Stadler Jr., 77, a native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace, died Aug. 2. He was the husband of Clair Sivori Stadler.

He is survived by his children Christina Hull, Sybill Brenner, Dudley A. Stadler III, Lisa Stagno and Gretchen de Gruy.

He is also survived by his sister Beverly Stadler, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dudley and Rita Stadler.

Services were held Aug. 4 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel, LaPlace, with interment in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery, LaPlace.

WRIGHT

NORCO – Fred Milton Wright, 85, a native of Norco and a resident of Springfield, died Aug. 3. He was the husband of Lenny Picou Wright.

He is survived by his children Patrick Wright and Susan Wright Mayl.

He is also survived by his brother George Wright Jr., five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Edna Farry Wright and a son Tim Wright.

Services were held Aug. 5 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Springfield, with interment in Maurepas Cemetery.
