New Orleans – Community Shares of Louisiana (CSL), a federation of non-profit organizations raising funds through workplace giving campaigns, has received a $3,000 Environmental Stewardship grant from Entergy. The grant will fund CSL’s Environmental Education and Outreach program, which distributes information from a variety of non-profits working for environmental protection.

“Entergy is committed to environmental stewardship and sustainable growth,” said Entergy’s Director of Corporate Contributions Patty Riddlebarger, in the award letter. “The legacy of that commitment will be a cleaner world today and for generations to come.”

CSL will use the grant support, in part, to purchase airtime on WRBH Reading Radio 88.3 FM, to air hour-long shows focusing on environmental issues monthly. Show guests will include the following Community Shares of Louisiana member agencies: the Alliance for Affordable Energy, Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, The Green Project, Gulf Restoration Network, and Louisiana Bucket Brigade.

CSL is a non-profit 501(c)3 representing member agencies working on issues such as the environment, health, helping seniors and children, and eradicating hunger and racism. All 501(c)3’s serving Louisiana are eligible for membership consideration. Donors are encouraged to give directly to the member agency of their choice, and undesignated donations are shared equally among all member agencies.

Donors are also welcome to write in the name of their favorite charity; CSL retains a 15% administrative fee from donations.
