BATON ROUGE—It will be their last game on the high-school level.

A pair of former St. Charles Catholic Comets in running back Tyrell Fenroy and tight end Byron Matus will be the lone representatives of St. John Parish in the Louisiana High School Athletic Coaches Association All-Star game this weekend.

Due to the construction on the campus of Louisiana State University, the football game has been moved to Southern University and took place yesterday.

A signee at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, Fenroy is concluding a brilliant high-school career that saw him lead the Comets to yet another district championship and a return to the playoffs in Class 3A.

For his exploits, Fenroy was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player in Class 3A.

Perhaps one of the other main reasons for the Comets’ success was the play of their tight-end Matus. The 6-3, 245-pound tight end will play alongside his teammate one last time as the East squad takes on the West squad in one of the most exciting and as of late, one of the most competitive all-star games of the LHSCA All-Star festivities.
