EDGARD – Perkin “Pop” Alexander, 95, a native and resident of Edgard, died July 7. He was the husband of the late Ethel Weber Alexander.

He is survived by his children Andrew, Milton and Irvin Alexander, Lucille Brown, Gloria Jackson, Carolyn Wallace, Darnell Jackson and Debra Cummings.

He is also survived by his siblings Morris Alexander and Eloise Fiffie, 42 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 16 great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Florient and Bertha Becnel Alexander, children Warren and Perkin Alexander Jr., Sedonia Bailey and Ethel Mae Louis and siblings Lawrence, Floria and Clinton Alexander, Emelda Louper and Lydia La Grange.

Services were held July 12 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment in the church cemetery.

baudouin

BOUTTE – Edwin J. Baudouin, 81, a native of St. James and a resident of Boutte, died July 6. He was the husband of Alvina Comardelle Baudouin.

He is survived by his children Herbert, John, Marty, Marion and Arlene Breaux and Malinda Rodrigue.

He is also survived by his siblings Louise B. Melancon and Shirley B. Bergeron, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Aurelia Pertuit Baudouin, daughter Norma Breaux and siblings Albert P. Baudouin Jr. and James J. Baudouin.

Services were held July 9 at Life Fellowship Community Church, Bayou Gauche, with interment in Sunset Cemetery, Bayou Gauche.

guarino

LAPLACE – Donald Anthony “Donny” Guarino, 26, a native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace, died July 9.

He was the son of Harold and Charlotte LeBlanc Guarino.

He is survived by his daughter Deanna Belle Guarino.

He is also survived by his siblings Michael Paul and Robert Lovelle Guarino, grandmother Alice Kairdolf Guarino, niece and nephews Joshua, Michael and Elisha Guarino, former wife Danielle Hymel Guarino and companion Jacquelyn Danielle Howell.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at L.A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, Kenner, with interment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

L.A. Muhleisen and Son, Kenner is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 8 a.m.

millet

LAPLACE – Honald J. Millet, 88, a native of Harahan and a resident of Avondale and LaPlace, died July 10.

He was the husband of the late Mary Hyver Millet.

He is survived by his children Diane M. Salomon and Paul V. Millet.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Adam and Ada Rome Millet, daughter Brenda Millet, siblings Dorothy Bunch, Geraldine Stoker, Fredrick Millet, Calvin Millet and Sherwood Millet.

Services will be held July 14 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Boneventure Catholic Church, Avondale, with interment in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be today from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the funeral home and on July 14 beginning at 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

pierre

WELCOME – Paul “Paulo” J. Pierre Sr., 90, a native of Welcome and a resident of New Orleans, died July 5. He was the husband of the late Cornelia Joseph Pierre.

He is survived by his children Richard, Bruce, Paul, Rickey Pierre and Diana Pierre Bell.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Celestine Georgoire Pierre, his daughter Gloria C. Pierre, six brothers and two sisters.

Services were held July 9 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment in St. James Catholic Cemetery.

LAPLACE – Mary Rose Strate, 83, a native of New Sarpy and a resident of LaPlace, died July 8.

She was the wife of Milton L. Strate.

She is survived by her daughter Kim Strate Hatfield and her grandson Justin Alan Hatfield.

Services were held July 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norco, with interment in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.

rodrigue

VACHERIE – Lawrence Ernest Rodrigue Sr., 79, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Metairie, died July 6. He was the husband of Carolyn Ely Rodrigue.

He is survived by his children Lawrence “Lonnie” Rodrigue Jr., Karen (Scott) Babbitt and Jane (Joseph) Knecht.

He is also survived by his sisters Anne Marse and grandchildren Charles and Martha Babbitt, Susan and Patrick Knecht.

Services were held July 9 at L.A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery.

vickers

LULING – Raymond A. Vickers, 86, a native of Niagara Falls, NY and a resident of Luling, died July 10. He was the husband of the late Ruth Vickers.

He is survived by his daughter Charleen Vickers.

He was employed by Occidental Chemical Corporation for 42 years.

Interment will be in Jackson, Michigan. Donations preferred to the Disabled Veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom.
