HAHNVILLE – Artists and graphic designers are asked by the St. Charles Parish Bicentennial Committee to design a logo and/or artwork commemorating St. Charles Parish’s bicentennial.

The parish was established in 1807 when Louisiana joined the United States. The state was carved from the original 1803 Louisiana Purchase.

The logo design will be used by the Bicentennial Committee in its plan and shall incorporate the sentiments conveyed in the following adopted statements of the Bicentennial Committee.

The Bicentennial Committee shall plan and produce activities and events to celebrate and commemorate 200 years of growth and prosperity of St. Charles Parish by showcasing our diverse cultures, natural resources, influences and individuals in various fields of interest that have made our parish “The Parish of Plenty.”

Any and all compensation requirements must be clearly stated in all proposals.

Proposals must be submitted by mail to the St. Charles Parish Department of Economic Development & Tourism, P.O. Box 302, Hahnville, LA 70057 and postmarked by July 13, 2005. “Bicentennial Logo” must be marked on the outside envelope. The winning selection will be made by the Bicentennial Committee on Aug. 17, 2005.

All submissions will become property of the St. Charles Parish Bicentennial Committee and the Committee reserves the right to use, modify, reproduce and sell all submissions.
