LULING – Etiennette “Net” Jeanne Steib Becnel, 84, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Luling, died June 19. She was the wife of the late Raymond G. Becnel Sr.

She is survived by her children Terry Becnel, Raymond (late Maisy) Becnel, Chris Becnel, Carolyn (Harry) Millien, Beverly (George) Borne, Susanne (Gerald) Zeringue and Marlene (late Darwin) Guillory.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Etienne and Elizabeth Falgout Steib, siblings Berris, Rene, Adolph, Albert Steib and Josephine Reulet, granddaughter Kaylie Barras and great great-grandson Colby Falcon.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment in the church cemetery.

ST. JAMES – Ada Mae “Mim” Ordoyne Cantrelle, 91, a native of St. James and a resident of Marrero, died June 19. She was the wife of Edward “Jack” Cantrelle.

She is survived by her children Kathleen “Kay” Cantrelle, Edward P. and David J. Cantrelle.

She is also survived by her siblings Mattie Schouest, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Euselia Borne Ordoyne, siblings Lillian Guidry, Pansy Roundtree, Joseph Ordoyne and Patrick Ordoyne.

Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the Mothe Funeral Home Chapel, New Orleans, with interment in the Westlawn Memorial Park.

ST. ROSE – Richard Edward “Rick” Himmaugh, 48, a native of New Orleans, raised in St. Rose and a resident of Pontchatoula, died June 18. He was the husband of Darla Raiford Himmaugh.

He is survived by his children Jennifer Himmaugh Pfister, Jessica Renee Raiford and Stephen Richard Himmaugh.

He is also survived by his siblings Elaine Marie Broussard, Lee Ann Lucas, Glen John Himmaugh and John Patrick Himmaugh and granddaughter Kayla Leanne Pfister.

Services will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at the Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, Hammond, with interment in the Bankston Cemetery, Hammond.

DESTREHAN – Anita L. “Mamiere” Matherne, 97, a native and resident of Destrehan, died June 17. She was the wife of the late Kelly Matherne Sr.

She is survived by her children Joyce M Duvic and Kelly (Ann) Matherne Jr.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Darlene M. Martin, Kevin G. Duvic, Rodney J. Matherne Sr., Robert Viving and Mary Ann Bigner, nine great-grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Floriska Louque, siblings Michel Louque, Lionel Louque, Ernest Louque Sr., Emma Martin, Ludivine Poche, Leonia Bourgeois and Irma Bourgeois and grandchild Joey Matherne.

Services were held June 20 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment in the St. Joseph Mausoleum.

DESTREHAN – Edward Joseph Mire Jr., 77, a native of New Sarpy and a resident of Destrehan, died June 18. He was the husband of the late Barbara Burguieres Mire.

He is survived by his children Jules (Earl) Mire, Nannette (Gary) Bergeron, Catherine (Jerry) Davis, Polly (Wayne) Pepitone and Marcie (Roger) Stromeyer.

He is also survived by his siblings Harold and Gerald Mire, Lorraine McCloud, nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother Herman Mire.

Services were held June 21 at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment in the church cemetery.

LUCY – Ramos Joseph “Jap” Rousseve Jr., 80, a native and resident of Lucy, died June 17. He was the husband of Dolores Rousseve.

He is survived by his children Sharazana Dinvaut, Marcelette Jackson, Charmaine Rousseve, Shawn Bacas, Eddie and Mark Rousseve.

He is also survived by his siblings Aurelia Haines, Myrna LeGaux and Florence Chevalier, 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ramos and Aurelia Mathieu Rousseve, daughter Danya Rousseve and siblings Theodore Rousseve and Joyce Mitchell.

Services were held June 21 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment in the St. John the Baptist Mausoleum.

GARYVILLE – Ethel Mary Siears Scharwath, 88, a native of Lutcher and a resident of Garyville, died June 18. She was the wife of the late Herbert Scharwath.

She is survived by her children Frank and George Scharwath, Faith S. Coneglio, Ethel Scharwath, Joy S. Monica and Aleta “Cookie” Scharwath.

She is also survived by her siblings Gertrude Duhe and Hilda Kilburn, 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank George and Stella Zimmer Siears, sons Frank Jr. and David Philip Scharwath, siblings Evelyn Siears, Frank Siears and Joseph Bell Thompson.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment in the St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

RESERVE – Junior “Jr.” “June” Joseph Valentine, 82, a native of Reserve and a resident of New Orleans, died June 12. He was the husband of Pearl G. Valentine.

He is survived by his children Taza, Lionel, Larry and Richard Valentine and Wilma Pollard.

He is also survived by his siblings Octave Valentine, Henry Duncan and Helen Martin, 31 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Service were held June 20 at the St. Matthias Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
