RESERVE-Make no mistake about it, Riverside Metro Head Coach Steve Stropolo is in the game to win the game.

However, he has something bigger in his mind when it comes to metro baseball.

Despite losing to St. Charles Catholic, 9-3, the Rebels Head Coach continues to try and get as many at-bats as possible for his kids against live pitching.

Two players that hit the ball well against the Comets were Keith Guidry and Colby Vicknair. Each had two hits and drove in a combined three runs.

“My goal in metro is to just get as many of these young kids as I can the opportunity to play,” Stropolo said. “We are just trying to get them introduced to our system and just allow them to play the game.

“We use this metro summer team to try and evaluate who is going to be apart of our baseball program. Metro is spring training. These are young kids just starting out in high school baseball and they have a lot of adjusting to do in all aspects of the game of baseball.”
