Faucheux new treasurer of House Rural Caucus

State Rep. Bobby Faucheux has been elected treasurer of the Louisiana House Rural Caucus.

Faucheux said, “It is an honor to be elected to a leadership position in this organization. The Rural Caucus is instrumental in promoting the objectives of the state’s rural areas and was organized specifically for this purpose. By working together, rural legislators are more effective and can better represent the similar interests of their districts and bring attention to their issues and concerns.”

Faucheux, who represents House District 57, was first elected to the House in 1995. He serves as a member of the House committees on Insurance, Judiciary and Ways and Means. He also serves on the Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay.

The Rural Caucus, which was founded in 1979, consists of 67 House members.
