LAPLACE – Gladys (Audrey) Vicknair Maurin, 74, a native of Reserve and resident of LaPlace, died April 22.

She was the wife of the late John Dan “Sam Spade” Maurin.

She is survived by her children J.D. And Gregory Maurin and Linda M. Stein.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren, her brother Peter Vicknair and her sister Mary Helen Scioneaux.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with internment in the St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

TRAVIS

VACHERIE – Joseph Travis Sr., 79, a native and resident of Vacherie, died April 20. He was the husband of Lula Mae Fields Travis.

He is survived by his children Alvin, Joseph Jr. and Jamesetta Travis and Barbara Steib.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held April 26 at the First Baptist Church, Vacherie, with internment in the church cemetery.

DUHE

HESTER – Laura Roussel Duhe, 88, a native of Gramercy and a resident of Hester, died April 22. She was the wife of the late Robert Joseph Duhe.

She is survived by her children Carolyn Allen, Flo Champagne, Pat Landy, Shirley Roussel, Roberta Melancon and Lorraine Rojas.

She is also survived by one sister, one brother, 19 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Services were held April 25 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with internment in the St. Joseph Mausoleum.

WHITE

KILLONA – Kevin Maurice White Sr., 45, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Killona, died April 17. He was the husband of Latricia M. Woods White.

He is survived by his children Kevin Jr., Maurianne, Jzanell and Juliette White and Latoya Woods.

He is also survived by two brothers, Groover J. and Leroy White and two sisters, Unise Patricia Simmons and Cassandra D. Collins.

Services were held April 23 at Community Funeral Home, Houma, with internment in the Deweyville Cemetery.

SEARLES

ST. ROSE – Leslie Antoinette “Les” Searles, 41, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Rose, died April 21. She was the daughter of Raymond Searles Sr. and Brenda Gladstone.

She is survived by her brother and sister Raymond Jr. and Monique Searles.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with internment in the St. James Catholic Church Cemetery, St. James.

BROWN

LAPLACE – Jacqueline Narcisse Brown, 63, a native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace, died April 24.

She was the daughter of Valma Miller Narcisse.

She is survived by her son and daughter Kevin and Deborah Brown.

She is also survived by her siblings Frank, Brent and Noel Crump, Marlene N. Johnson, Judy N. Coleman, Barbara N. Scott, Carol N. Thomas, Lenette N. Smith and Keisha C. McSwain.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, New Orleans, with internment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
