DESTREHAN – The Community Chorus of River Parishes will hold its Spring Concerts on May 13 at the St. Charles United Methodist Church, 1905 Ormond Boulevard in Destrehan, and on May 14, at the First Union Presbyterian Church, 134 Lakewood Drive in Luling. Both will begin at 7 p.m.

The theme will be a presentation of favorite songs of past concerts, in addition to new selections.

The program will consist of full Chorus, group and solo selections. Some will be most popular songs from Broadway shows and movies, as well as beloved inspirationals.

The concerts are free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.

The Chorus was formed in the year 2000 and is currently comprised of nearly sixty members. It is open to all who love to sing.

Its mission is “To bring together voices in harmony for the purpose of promoting cultural enrichment through music.”

Those interested in becoming members should attend the Spring concerts and join immediately after in order to enjoy and benefit from preparation for the Christmas Concert.

The Chorus performs at no charge for many organizations, such as Council on Aging, Parish and Veterans events, ARC and churches, on request.
