LULING – John Edmond Macleery Jr., 79, a native of East Bank, WV and a resident of Luling, died April 6. He was the husband of Myrdith R. Macleery.

He is survived by his children, Fredrick Lee Macleery and Clara Margaret Wolf.

He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a brother and sister, Cledis Macleery and Thelma M. Sherwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. And Clara May Macleery, his son, John Franklin Macleery and his brother, Carl Macleery.

Services were held on April 10 at the First Baptist Church, Luling, with internment in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery, St. Rose.

Dixon

DESTREHAN – Jay Michael Dixon, 21, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Destrehan, died April 9. He was the son of Debra H. Dixon and the late J. Michael Dixon.

He is survived by his brother Gregory Michael Dixon, his grandmother and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services were held on April 14 at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with internment in the church mausoleum.

Bartholomew

EDGARD – Josephine “Feen” Songy Bartholomew, 98, a native and resident of Edgard, died April 10.

She is survived by her children, Antoine and Gilbert Bartholomew and Flora Champagne.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were held April 15 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with internment in the church cemetery.

dufrene

PARADIS – Kevin Wayne Dufrene, 48, a resident of Paradis, died April 13. He was the husband of Delilah Durfrene.

He is survived by his children, Tabitha Hymel and Justin and Jon-Eric Dufrene.

He is also survived by his parents Harris and Thelma Dufrene, siblings, Harris Jr. and Brian Dufrene, Karen Russo, one grandchild Abby Hymel and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. At the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Paradis.

Sylvain

EDGARD – Joseph “Papa Nick” Sylvain Jr., 93, a native and resident of Edgard, died April 10.

He was the husband of the late Cleola Alexander Sylvain.

He is survived by his children, Warner, Donald, Joseph Michael, Ferdinand, Robert and Rudy Sylvain.

He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. At the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with internment in the church cemetery.

Howard

NEW SARPY – Lloyd E. Howard Sr.,54, a native and resident of New Sarpy, died on April 11.

He was the former husband of Vicie L. Howard.

He is survived by his children, Issac Ray, Lloyd Ernest Jr. and Tracy Lee Howard and Tania Howard Forges.

He is also survived by his siblings, Gilbert, Broderick and Joel Howard and Jacquelyn Gross and Mercedes Brown and eight grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 1 p.m. At the House of Prayer Baptist Church, New Sarpy, with internment in the New Sarpy Cemetery.

Diggs

BOUTTE – Louisiana Diggs, 64, a native and resident of Boutte, died April 11. She was the daughter of the late Lena Boyd and Willie Diggs, Sr.

She is survived by her children, Calvin Sr., James Sr., Jimmie Sr. and Laura Ann Diggs.

She is also survived by two brothers, two sisters and nine grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Boutte, with internment in the Mt. Airy Memorial Park Cemetery, Boutte.

White

ST. ROSE – Patricia H. White, 44, a native of norco and a resident of St. Rose, died April 9.

She was the wife of Benny Joe White.

She is survived by her children Felicia Vasser, Chantell, Diondira and Aaliyah White.

She is also survived by her brother Herbert Holmes and two step-sisters, Justina Gibson and Darlene Brown and two grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at the Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, Norco, with internment in the Montz Memorial Park Cemetery, Montz.
