McGEHEE-It is pretty hard to lose a game when at least every hitter in your lineup has a hit in their final line score.

Especially in softball.

But that is what happened Thursday afternoon as Mickey Roussel’s every improving Riverside Lady Rebels softball team rolled over McGehee, 15-0.

The win pushes the Lady Rebels to 16-14 on the season and keeps them undefeated in district 10-2A at 8-0.

McGehee drops to 8-9 overall and 4-3 in district 10-2A.

Nicole Poirrier picked up the shutout win in the circle for the Lady Rebels. In the five-inning run-ruled contest, Poirrier allowed only one hit and ran her record to 15-12 on the season.

Hallie Timm picked up the loss in the circle for McGehee and her record now is 8-5 on the season.

After a scoreless first inning by both teams, the Lady Rebels began their 15-run, 14-hit onslaught in the second inning scoring a single run.

Pushing across a pair of runs in the third inning, McGehee held Riverside scoreless in the fourth inning.

Then came inning number five.

An inning that the McGehee fans can’t wait to forget and one that Roussel hopes reoccurs very often down the stretch for his Lady Rebel squad.

Riverside pushed across 12 runs in the inning, a season-high to push their lead to 15-0.

Poirrier then held McGehee scoreless in the bottom of the fifth inning to end the game after five due to the 10-run mercy rule and the victory belonged to the Lady Rebels.

16-14 on the season and a perfect 8-0 in district play, Riverside looks to continue their winning ways this weekend when they play host to the Lady Rebel Classic.

Three opponents remain on the regular season schedule for the Rebels.

Riverside travels to fisher on April 5th with a 4:00 first pitch. They then conclude the regular season with a pair of games at home against West St. John on April 7th at 4:00 and a double-header against powerhouse Teurlings Catholic on April 9th beginning at 11:00.
