ESJ splits pair in tourney, get ready for the start of very tough district play

PONCHATOULA-Looking to find their stride with the start of district 6-5A quickly approaching, the East St. Wildcats split a pair of games in a tournament in Ponchatoula this past weekend.

Taking on two 5A schools, the Wildcats defeated the host Green Wave of Ponchatoula 11-4 and were defeated by H.L. Bourgeois 11-0.

Head Coach Macky Waguespack’s schedule does not get any easier this week as the Wildcats have a pair of games on the schedule.

East St. John took on the Bulldogs of Lutcher at home yesterday and will conclude their week of pre-district games on Thursday when they travel into the New Orleans area to take on a very tough Bonnabel Bruin team on the road.
