Praying to Pass Partners sets Week of Prayer

Published 12:00 am Wednesday, March 9, 2005

Praying to Pass Partners would like to announce the 3rd Annual Week of Prayer to be held Monday, March 14 thru Friday, March 18, 2005.

Praying to Pass is an initiative developed by a group of concerned citizens in an effort to pray for the success of the children of the state of Louisiana as they take LEAP21 and GEE 21.

Each year, LEAP21 is administered to every 4th and 8th grader, while GEE21 is administered to every 10th and 11th grader within the public school systems of the state of Louisiana.

Although statistics vary from parish to parish, the Louisiana Department of Education stated in their May 7, 2004 press release that “public high school students showed significant, across-the-board improvement and the state’s 8th graders improved overall”; however, “the passage rate for 4th graders decreased”.

The Praying to Pass supporters believe that their prayers have played a major role in the success of the students for the past two years, they also believe that as they continue to pray, the students scores will continue to improve.

In order to participate in the Praying to Pass Initiative, please commit to pray for the students, teachers, and administrators of the state of Louisiana at the designated times of 7AM and 7PM during the week of March 14 – 18, 2005; which is the designated testing period for this school year.
