RESERVE – Isna Sophie Webre Becnel, 87, a native of Garyville and resident of Reserve, died March 5. She was the wife of Albert Becnel and mother of Janet Bowman and Thomas Becnel.

She was also the daughter of the late Fernand and Louise Granier Webre, and foster sister of Lee Hymel, and the late Earl Hymel.

Services were March 8 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.

BOURGEOIS

GRAMERCY – Audrey Pollet Bourgeois, 78, a resident of Gramercy, died March 8. She ws the wife of the late Roy Bourgeois, and mother of Connie Weber, Karen Rizzuto, Gail Louque, and the late Roy Jr. And Randy Bourgeois.

She was also the daughter of the late Clarence and Leontine Pollet, and sister of the late Amilcar and Edward Pollet.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

DELAUNE

METAIRIE – Christine E. Hummel Delaune, 58, a native of Jefferson and resident of St. Charles Parish for 15 years, died March 4. She was the wife of Curtis Delaune and mother of Katherine and Sarah Delaune.

She was also the daughter of the late Ethel Boesch and Emmett Hummel Sr., and sister of Marguerite “Peggy” Tracy, Sister Constance Hummel, and the late Barbara Whitla and Emmett Hummel II.

She was a former realty specialist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was a substitute teacher at Destrehan High School.

Graveside services are today at 10 a.m., at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

GORDON

METAIRIE – Genece Gordon, 76, a native and resident of Paradis, died March 5. She was the father of Margaret Vial and Charles Morgan Jr.

She was also the sister of Charlotte Dilliard, Bod and Rfalph McPhail.

She is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was a retired tax accountant.

Services are today at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

GRIFFIN

BOUTTE – Mildred H. Griffin, 77, a native of St. James and resident of Boutte, died March 3. She was the wife of the late Ennis Griffin, and stepmother of the late Diane Griffin.

She was also the daughter of the late Walter and Beatrice Hall, and sister of Odera Scott, Leona Griffen, Vivian Scott, Adllene Mott, James and Charley Hall., and the late Rosemary Stewart.

She is also survived by one step-grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Boutte, with interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Boutte. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

LOWRY

DESTREHAN – George Louis Lowry, 88, a native of Lutcher and resident of Destrehan, died March 5. He was the husband of Dorothy Clement Lowry and father of Donna Kelly, Mary Kessler, Anne Billings, George, Gary, James, David and Tim Lowry.

He was also the son of the late Richard and Corine Lowry, and brother of Marie Orillion, Jefferson and Richard Lowry, and the late Marguerite Erra, Cocinne Abreo, Kathleen, Edward, Valery and Frank Lowry.

He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was a master sergeant and served in the U.S. Air Force for 32 years. He was a veteran of World War II and the Vietnam War. He was also a member of American Legion Post 466.

Services were March 8 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.

VICKNAIR

PAULINA – Jane C. Vicknair, 73, a resident of St. James Parish, died March 3. She was the wife of the late Harry Vicknair, and mother of Mary Keating, Stephanie, George and Chris Vicknair.

She was also the sister of Jo Ann Bennett.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren.

Services were March 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church cemetery.
