RESERVE. – Entergy will team up with schools, non-profit groups and civic organizations to help build stronger, more productive communities through the 2005 Entergy Community Partnership Grant Program.

Entergy’s grant program will award up to $1,000 to non-profit organizations for programs with a positive impact on education and literacy, community enrichment, low-income residents, and healthy families.

Grant applications must be postmarked by April 26.

Grants will be made only to nonprofit organizations that are tax exempt under section 501 (c)(3) of the internal revenue code and to schools, hospitals and governments units.

Any organization that has received a Community Partnership Grant for three consecutive years must wait one year before applying again.

“There are many organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life in our communities,” said Tammy Frank, Customer Service Manager. “We want to be a part of this effort. Entergy’s Community Partnership Grants program is an important investment in the future of the communities we serve.”

An advisory board of educators and community representatives will judge all applications. Entergy will announce the grant recipients by Aug. 2. Checks will be presented by Sept. 27.

Entergy Louisiana awarded $110,000 in grants to 161 Louisiana organizations in 2004.

The grants supported efforts such as after school tutorial programs, an anti-litter campaign, literacy programs and help for low-income residents.
