West St. John opens up against Jewel Sumner at home

EDGARD-Capturing a district championship is a tremendous accomplishment.

Winning it with a perfect 10-0 record is something that will go down in the history books.

Behind four players in double-figures, the West St. John boys defeated Buras 87-31 Friday night to conclude the regular season.

Dana Stipe led all scorers with 20 points and Juan Joseph added 19 points in the win. Tyren Johnson also had a solid night with 12 points and Dehaven Butler rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points.

With the win, the Rams are now 23-2 on the season and a perfect 10-0 in district 10-2A.

The district championship secures a home game in the first round for the Rams. WSJ opens up play on Friday night at 7 p.m. when the welcome Jewel Sumer, a talented team from the Northshore.
