MT. AIRY – Milton “McNeil” Farlough, a resident of Lutcher, died Feb. 12. He was the father of Deborah Jackson and Darniel Farlough and stepfather of eight.

He was also the companion of Audrey Duhone.

Services are today at 11 a.m., at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, with interment at Woodville Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

HOTARD

KENNER – Marie Ann “Mary Ann” Acosta Hotard, 73, a native and resident of Norco, died Feb. 15. She was the wife of the late Francis Hotard Sr., and mother of Diane Sudkamp, Betty Simoneaux, Gloria Parent, Vickie Hotard, Tammy Murphy, Patricia Vicknair, Francis Jr., and Roxanne Roy.

She was also the daughter of the late Elsie Granier and Sterling Acosta Sr., and sister of Linda Pfister, Inez Faucheux and Sterling Acosta Jr.

She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 18 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Kenner.

OPATERNY

LAPLACE – Ferdinand Opaterny, 94, a native of Romania and resident of Reserve for 53 years, died Feb. 15. He was the husband of the late Maria Pipal Opaterny, and father of Gerda Vicknair.

He is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchilden.

Services were Feb. 17 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.

SPENCER

ST. JAMES – Ethel Spencer, 80, a native of Welcome, former resident of New Orleans for more than 50 years and resident of Vacherie, died Feb. 15. She was the mother of Leroy Nicholas and Mark Spencer.

She was also the sister of Alice Heary, Janice Sutherland, Alvina Rodrigue, Philodae McConduit, Lionel, Aline, Sedonia Spencer, and the late Francis Rodrigue, Selena Chjiquet, James and Shedrick Spencer.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

ST. PIERRE

KENNER – Jean Baptiste “John” St. Pierre Sr., 89, a native of St. John the Baptist Parish, former resident of Norco and resident of Jefferson, died Feb. 10. He was the father of Elodie Tassin, Elizabeth Simon, Carol Sowers, rose Pearson, Mary Binaco, Marian, J.B. and Franklin St. Pierre Sr.

He is also survived by 26 grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Edgard High School, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired instrument technician for Shell Oil Refinery in Norco.

Services were Feb. 12 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, Kenner, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.

TAYLOR

GRAMERCY – Albertha Mitchell “Lucy” Taylor, 85, a native of Ascension Parish and resident of Gramercy, died Feb. 12. She ws the wife of the late Arthur Taylor, and mother of Joann Perrilloux, Cheryl, Arthur Jr., Ronald, Curtis, Lionel and Stanley Taylor.

She was also the daughter of the late Lillie Crosby and Thomas Mitchell Sr., and sister of Elnora Davis, and the late Hattie Fisher, Ollie Butler, Edward and Thomas Mitchell.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 17 at Golden Grove Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment at Golden Wreath Cemetery, Lutcher.

WILLIAMS

NORCO – Maria Shilow Williams, 82, a native of LaPlace, former resident of Norco for 52 years, and resident of LaPlace, died Feb. 10. She was the wife of the late Ervin Williams Sr., and mother of Carolyn Roberts and Ervin Williams Jr.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 17 at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, Norco, with interment at St. Rose Cemetery.
