ADAMS

RIVER RIDGE – Angela “Goo” Adams, 39, a native of New Orleans and resident of New Sarpy, died Feb. 6. She was the mother of Tharnell Adams.

She was also the daughter of Florence V. Adams and sister of Amanda Griffin, Adele, Alva Jr., Anthony Sr., Aaron Sr., Alden, Allister and Keith Adams.

Services were Feb. 12 in the chapel of Richardson Funeral Home, River Ridge, with interment at New Sarpy Cemetery.

BATISTE

LAPLACE – Bernadine Williams Batiste, 44, a native of Reserve and resident of LaPlace, died Feb. 9. She was the wife of the late Bruce Batiste, and mother of Amber and Coy Williams, Maya and Bruce Batiste Jr.

She was also the daughter of Medrick Williams Sr., and the late Rosalie Banks Williams, and sister of Verna Warren, Aline Zeno, Marva Lee Joseph, Yvonne Smith, Norma Dorrest, Marilyn Warren, Joyce Bush, Marlene Watkins, Sheryl Pierre, Rose Francois, DeLloyd Sr., Lionel, Medrick Jr. and Gerald Williams.

Services are today at 11 a.m., at Rising Star Baptist Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

BERTRAND

PRAIRIE RONDE – Marina Elizabeth Bertrand, 90, a resident of Opelousas, died Feb. 10. She was the wife of the late Howard Bertrand, and mother of Deanna Butler of LaPlace, Gilda Soileau of Opelousas, Randall Bertrand of Thibodaux and James Bertrand of Opelousas.

She was also the daughter of the late August and Electa Bertrand, and sister of Lou Ann Ledoux, Vernice Provost, Sister Anna Lee Bertrand and Gabriella Bertrand, and the late Hilton Bertrand.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were Feb. 11 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Prairie Ronde, with interment at the church mausoleum.

DOUGLAS

LAPLACE – Roosevelt Douglas, 68, a native of New Orleans and resident of New Sarpy, died Feb. 4. He was the husband of Beulah Gross Douglas and father of Sharon Pinkins, Denise Granger, Calvin, Milton, Darrell and Troy Douglas.

He was also the brother of Willie Lee Miller, Grace Lewis, Lou Ethel Butler, Isiah Douglas and Cardell Short.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was a retired fitter for St. Pierre Fabrication.

Services were Feb. 12 at Jehovah’s Witness Congregation, LaPlace, with interment at New Sarpy Cemetery.

GAUDET

LAPLACE – Edward J. Gaudet Sr., 82, a native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace for 16 years, died Feb. 13. He was the husband of the late Mary Madere Gaudet, and father of Edward Gaudet Jr.

He was also the son of the late Oscar Sr., and Blanche Duhe Gaudet, and brother of Robert, Rene and Joyce Gaudet, and the late Luciette Corey and Wuzzy Gaudet.

He is also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

LeBLANC

LAPLACE – Alma Schexnayder LeBlanc, 92, a native of Lions and resident of Metairie for 45 years, died Feb. 13. She was the wife of the late Bruno LeBlanc.

She was also the sister of Thelma boe, Nolan Schexnayder, and the late Walter, Flagile Jr., Claude, Norbert, Herman and Lawrence Schexnayder, Margarette Haydel Gautreaux, Mable Stein and Dorothy Chauvin.

Services were Feb. 15 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

LOUVIERE

NORCO – Daneel Boutte Louviere, 50, a native of New Orleans and resident of Norco for 44 years, died Feb. 10. She was the wife of Lynn Louviere Jr., and mother of Ashley and Brad Louviere.

She was also the daughter of Sydney Fabre, and the late Percy Boutte Jr., and sister of Renee Phelan, Scott and Jacques Boutte.

Services were Feb. 14 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.

ROBEAU

METAIRIE – Mildred Wilcox Robeau, 66, 66, a resident of Destrehan, died Feb. 12. She was the mother of Ronald and Gerald Gegenheimer, Cindy Erwin, Jan McNaughton, James Robeau Jr., Joan Hebert, Julie Gueho and Gill Chilton.

She was also the daughter of the late King and Mildred M. Braud Wilcox, and sister of the late Mervin, Melvin, Rodney and Mary Wilcox.

She was also survived by 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 15 in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

WYANT

LULING – Frances Hinton Wyant, 68, a resident of Luling, died Feb. 12. She was the mother of Amy Hebert, Thomas Sr., Micah and Timothy Wyant.

She was also the daughter of Grady Hinton Jr., and the late Audie Kees Hinton, and sister of Grady Hinton III.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

She was a retired teacher with the St. Charles Parish school system and was Outstanding Teacher of the Year.

Services were Feb. 15 at First Baptist Church, Luling, with interment at Olia Cemetery, Olia.
