BOLTON

VACHERIE – Corinne Olivier Bolton, 95, a native of St. Martinville and resident of Vacherie, died Feb. 4. She was the wife of the late F. Neal Bolton, and mother of Frances Dumez, Marilyn Vitrano, George W. “Bill” and Joanna Bolton, and the late F. Neal Bolton.

She was also the daughter of the late George and Inez Padedaux Olivier, and sister of the late Inez Schexnayder, Mary Alice Bourgeois, George, Alcee and Pierre Olivier.

She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one grandchild.

She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters Court 1504 and past Grand Regent of the Court, and held numerous state offices.

Services were Feb. 10 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

BOUDREAUX

HAHNVILLE – Louis Omer Boudreaux, 73, a native of Edgard and resident of Hahnville, died Feb. 5. He was the husband of Sylvia Gendron Boudreaux and father of June Billiot and Paula Pizzolato.

He was also the son of the late Henry and Ada Webre Boudreux, and brother of Joseph Boudreaux.

He is also survived by three grandchildren.

He was a member of American Legion Post 131 and a Monsanto retiree with 32 years of service. He was also a retired equipment operator at Monsanto.

Services are Feb. 10 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling. Visitation is 9-11 a.m. tomorrow.

BRADY

ST. JAMES – Ulice Paul Brady, 80, a native of Edgard and resident of St. James, died Feb. 8. He was the son of the late Adolph and Odile Brady, and brother of Eva Lois, Willie Mae, Georgina, Joseph and Louis Brady, and the late Odile Briscol, Gloria Allen, Rosemary Lewis, Dorothy McDaniel and Stafford Brady.

Services are today at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Edgard. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

BURCH

VACHERIE – Wesley Joseph Burch, 81, a native and resident of Wallace, died Feb. 8. He was the husband of the late Eva Waguespack Burch, and father of Alison Capone and David Burch Sr.

He was also the son of the late Ozelia Gaudin Burch and Henry Burch, and brother of Delia Menge, Alvin, Elwood, and the late Leona Champagne and Henry Burch Jr.

He is also survived by four grandchildren.

He was a retired Louisiana State Police sergeant and Safety and Compliance Officer for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

Services were Feb. 11 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum.

COLEMAN

EDGARD – Shirley M. Valentine Coleman, 68, a native and resident of Edgard, died Feb. 6. She was the wife of Leo Coleman and mother of Sandy Louper, Corlia Porter, Gregory Louper and Leo R. Coleman

She was also the daughter of the late Azerius and Albertha Valentine, and sister of Dorothy Milton, Juanita, Jacob, George, Shelton, and the late Azerius Jr. and Augufer Valentine.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 11 at Greater New St. Peter Baptist Church, Edgard, with interment at Young Cemetery, Edgard.

DAIGLE

PORT ALLEN – Edward Joseph Daigle, 91, a native of Cinclare and resident of Baton Rouge, died Feb. 7. He was the husband of 65 years of Juanita Himel Daigle and father of Marilyn Harrington and David Daigle.

He was also the son of the late John and Elvey Marie Aucoin Daigle, and brother of Sister Mary Bernadette, and the late Berthilde Coles, John Daigle Jr., Joseph and James Daigle.

He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He graduated from LSU with a degree in industrial education and industrial arts education. He taught at Leon Godchaux High School from 1950 to 1956. He later taught at the Delta Ouachita Vocational School and worked at the Vocational Education Department of the Louisiana State Department. In 1979 he became director of the Folkes Vocational Technical School and retired in 1986.

Services were Feb. 10 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Port Allen, with interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park.

DENOUX

NORCO – Donald J. “Skipper” Denoux, 87, a native of Norco and resident of Hammond for the past 14 years, died Feb. 4. He was the husband of 45 years by first marriage of the late Dorothy Lucas Denoux, and by second marriage of Dorothy Lauman Denoux, and father of Dottie Catoire, kathryn Boucvalt, Susan Messer, Donald and Michael Denoux.

He was also the son of the late Raymond Sr., and Christina Dimm Denouxm and brother of Elodie Vanderlinden, Raymond Denoux Jr., and the late Leslie Guidry, Dorothy Juneau and Bernice Lukes.

He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, past member of VFW Post 195 and Knights of Columbus Council 3634, Pete Fountain’s Half-Fast Marching Club and the Krewe Omega in Hammond.

Services were Feb. 7 in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

FARLEY

METAIRIE – William Lawrence Farley, 80, a native of Chicago, resident of Destrehan for 20 years and resident of River Ridge for the past year, died Jan. 31. He was the father of Kim Hrubes and Robin Farley.

He is also survived by one grandchild.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a corporal with the 11th Airborne Paratrooper Division, and a Purple Heart recipient.

Services were Feb. 4 in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories.

HANSLEY

LUTCHER – Letric Wallace Hansley, 33, a native and resident of Lutcher, died Feb. 7. She was the mother of Jalisa, Javonie, Stephan and Steven Hansley Jr.

She was also the daughter of Osborne Sr., and Loyce Ursin Wallace, and sister of Osborne Patrick Wallace.

Services are today at 11 a.m., at King Solomon Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Convent. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.

MATHERNE

LUTCHER – Rory Patrick Matherne, 38, a native and resident of Lutcher, died Feb. 9. He was the husband of Twyla Moore Matherne and father of Lindsey and Kaitlyn Matherne.

He was also the son of Elinor Abreo Darnell and Ronald Matherne, stepson of Steve Darnell and Ronald Matherne, brother of Barbree Duhe, Celese Duhe, Ronald Jr. and Eric Matherne, and stepbrother of Craig and Chris Himel.

Services are Feb. 14 at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

MONTZ

NORCO – Bernice “Bonnie” Lambert Montz, 85, a antive of St. Rose and resident of Norco for 60 years, died Feb. 6. She was the wife of the late Daniel Montz, and mother of Polly Bourg, Karen Landry and Lorna Boles.

She was also the daughter of the late Joseph and Poliska Barbier Lambert, and sister of the late Lillian, Mabel , Lillie, Hilda, Carrie, Vergie, Joe, Sidney, Fallon and Evan Lambert.

She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 7 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

MORFIN

LAPLACE – Genevieve Schmitz Morfin, 74, a native of St. Louis, Mo., and resident of LaPlace for 22 years, died Feb. 5. She was the wife of Manuel Morfin and mother of Matthew Morfin.

She was also the sister of Herman Schmitz.

She is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were Feb. 10 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

RIXNER

MT. AIRY – Julius “Gup” Rixner, 72, a native of Mt. Airy and resident of New Orleans for 41 years, died Feb. 5. He was the father of the Rev. Dwight Rixner and stepfather of Deborah Trimble, Carolyn Alexander, Georgia, Ronald and Reginald LeCoq. He was also the companion of Delores Gonzales.

He was also the brother of Helen Burl, Godfrey Sr., Cornelius Sr., and the late Aldon Watson, Albertine Spears, Constance Scott, Ethel Bardell, Dorothy Esko, Jack Nicholas, Inez, Lloyd and Hayward Rixner.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m., at St. Mark Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

ROBERTSON

LUTCHER – Ernest Robertson Jr., 67, a resident of Paulina, died Jan. 30. He was the husband of Idola Porter Robertson and father of Pamela Tureaud, Patricia Johnson, Paulette Duperclay, Paul, James and Tony Porter.

He was also the son of Annie Marcel Robertson, and the late Ernest Robertson Sr., and brother of Laddia Mason, Nettie Kirklin, Betty Griffin, Jeanetta Benn, Lawrence, Dave, Jackie, James, Henry and Eddie Robertson.

He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 5 at First Community Antioch Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Paulina.

TORRES

GARYVILLE – Wilson “Noonie” Torres Jr., 79, a native and resident of Garyville, died Feb. 10.

He was the husband of Anne Gonzales Torres and father of Penny Chachere, Robert, Dennis and Kevin Torres.

He was also the son of the late Wilson Sr., and Jea’ne Marie Zeringue Torres, and brother of Audrey Schexnayder, Donald Torres, and the late Alma Gorio, Murphy, Joseph “JP,” and Lynn Torres.

He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 11 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

VALERY

LUTCHER – Jacob “Jake” Valery Sr., 85, a native of Convent and resident of Lutcher, died Jan. 31.

He was the husband of Harriet Lang Valery and father of Christine Watson, and the late Jacob Valery Jr.

He was also the son of the late Mandy and Ophelia Davis Valery, and brother of Nancy, Lawrence and Percy Anderson.

He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 5 at Lutcher Chapel United Methodist Church, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
