Ryan Perrilloux and Patrick Jackson took home a pair of prestigious awards last week as each were named National Old Spice Red Zone Players of the Year.

Perrilloux and Jackson were chosen from a large pool of nominees from more than 4,500 participating high school football teams to receive this honor. They are each honored as one of 50 players across America who stood out among their peers for their exceptional performance in the Red Zone.

For being named National Old Spice Players of the Year, the duo will be honored in a full-page congratulatory announcement in USA Today on Thursday, February, 3, 2005 along with the newspaper’s coverage of National Letter of Intent Signing Day. They will also receive an Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year awards package.

High school coaches from across the country nominated one player from their teams as their Player of the Year. Each nominee received a certificate to acknowledge his accomplishment and was eligible for the national award.

Both head coaches were very happy to see their student-athletes take home the prestigious awards.

“Ryan Perrilloux is the best player that I have coached in 37 years in this great profession,” East St. John head coach Larry Dauterive said. “He is the kind of player that wants the ball in his hands when the game is on the line.”

West St. John head coach Laury Dupont had the same type of words for his star as well.

“His character, attitude and work ethic easily make him team captain,” Dupont said. “Great athlete…and Patrick is an even greater person!!!!!!!!”
