BARRIOS

LAPLACE – Willie Mae Rushing Barrios, 84, a native of Good Hope and resident of LaPlace for 25 years, died Jan. 28.

She was the wife of the late Curtis Barrios, and mother of Dianne Sutherland and Barry Barrios.

She was also the sister of Beverly Ales.

She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchilden.

Services were Jan. 31 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.

FAUCHEUX

VACHERIE – Lewis J. “Paw-Paw” “Schwing” Faucheux Sr., 85, a native of Wallace and resident of LaPlace for 14 years, died Jan. 27.

He was the husband of the late Thelma Hymel Faucheux, and father of Lewis Faucheux Jr.

He was also the son of the late Fergus and Noelie Marie Tregre Faucheux, and brother of Mabel Cazenave, Vivian Waguespack, Enola, Malvin, Clarence, Clifford, and the late Lynn and Lucien Faucheux.

He is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was a veteran of World War II, member of Knights of Columbus Council 1514 and a Colonial Sugars retiree.

Services were Jan. 29 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum.

LAURENT

NORCO – Elvira Breaud Laurent, 98, a native of Edgard and resident of LaPlace, died Jan. 30.

She was the wife of the late Robley Laurent, and mother of the late Ewell, Robley Jr., Mary Ida, Kermit and Debbie Laurent.

She was also the daughter of the late John and Eliza Faucheux Breaud, and sister of the late Regina Brasher, Theresa Carmelick, Marie Zeringue, Robert Dennis Sr., Alfred, Wilbert, and Octave Breaud.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by three grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 1 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at

McCRACKEN

MARRERO – Luther S. McCracken Jr., 58, a native of Ogden, Utah, and resident of Luling and Hahnville for the past 34 years, died Jan. 26.

He was the husband of Susan Gonzales McCracken and father of Kevin, Jacob and Jason Chapman and Meredith McCracken.

He was also the son of Lutcher and Delsa Hebdon McCracken and brother of LaRaine McClure, Henry, Michael and Steven McCracken.

He is also survived by three grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 26 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Luling, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

RAPHAEL

VACHERIE – Lucille Patterson Raphael, 89, a native and resident of Vacherie, Died Jan. 29.

She was the wife of the late Lazarus Raphael, and mother of Irma Smith, Warren, Andrew and Brenda Raphael, and the late Joseph Raphael.

She was also the daughter of the late Lucille and Andrew Patterson Sr., and sister of Norma Howard, Andrew Patterson, and the late Stella Steward, Jenette Proby, Gertrude Crump, Irma Ellis, Rose Jackson, Clarence, Albert and Will Patterson.

She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 1 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

ROBICHEAUX

DESTREHAN – Mabel May Robicheaux, 98, a former resident of New Hope and resident of Destrehan, died Jan. 30.

She was the daughter of the late Robert and Aline Robicheaux, and sister of Guy Sr., Slattrery and Antoine Robicheaux.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Celine Nederveld, Joyce Zehnie, Guy Jr., Charles, Robert, Francis and David Robicheaux.

She served as a nurse in World War II as a lieutenant in the North Africa and Sicily campaigns. She was a member of American Legion Post 195.

Services are Feb. 3 at 11 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.

Visitation begins Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
