BARRETT

LAPLACE – Cam S. Barrett Jr., 87, a native of Clarks and resident of LaPlace for 56 years, died Jan. 19. He was the husband of 62 years of Margaret Stirling Barrett and father of Cindy Chapoton and Dr. John Barrett.

He was also the son of the late Cam Sr., and Myrtie Barrett, and brother of Irma Cox and Mable Garrett. He is preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, LaPlace, with interment at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Baton Rouge. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

DEROCHE

DESTREHAN – Geary Joseph Deroche, 75, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Luling, died Jan. 17. He was the husband of Donna Deroche and father of Dena and Craig Deroche.

He was also the brother of Ruby Corriel, Maebelle Hogan, Lois Forrest, Barbara Wainkauf, Gerald and Daniel Deroche, and the late Garnet Simoneaux, Espazie Quinn and Paul Deroche.

He is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were Jan. 21 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling.

HOLDEN

LAPLACE – Dr. William B. Holden, 77, a resident of Baltimore, Md., died Jan. 16. He was the father of Lisa Mortimer and Katherine Holden.

He was also the brother of Anne Elcid of LaPlace.

He is also survived by four grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

KING

DESTREHAN – Paul Vincent King, 83, a native of Oklahoma City, Okla., and resident of Destrehan, died Jan. 13. He was the father of Ginger Triche, Jackie, Judy and John King.

He was also the brother of Joan Horn, Lillian and Edward King.

He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were Jan. 17 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.

MANNINA

LAPLACE – Judith Dupepe Mannina, 68, a native of Reserve, former resident of Norco and resident of LaPlace for the past eight years, died Jan. 20. She was the wife of Earl Mannina and mother of Deal Mannina.

She was also the daughter of the late Nicolle Sr., and Eulalie Dupepe, and sister of Julian Guidry, Clarence and Nicolle Dupepe Jr., and the late Velma Guidry and Norman Dupepe.

She is also survived by one grandchild.

Services are today at noon at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.

MINOR

LULING – Henry Bennett “Ben” Minor Jr., 82, a resident of Luling, died Jan. 18. He was the husband of Carlene N. Minor and father of Carla Veltsos, Benjy Minor and Wendy Wilson.

He was also the son of the late Henry Sr., and Stella Minor, and brother of Pat Dennis, Geneva Thompson, and the late Louise Thompson, Kathryn Brodnax, James and Bob Minor.

Services were Jan. 20 at First Baptist Church, Luling, with interment at

OUBRE

HAHNVILLE – Gerard L. Oubre, 62, a native and resident of Hahnville, died Jan. 17. He was the husband of the late Sandra M. Oubre, and father of Blaine and Britten Oubre.

He was also the son of the late Charles and Felicie Keller Oubre, and brother of Suzie, Sandra, Charles Jr., Gail, Roland and Bernard “Slick” Oubre.

He is also survived by four grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, a teacher with the St. Charles Parish public school system and a member of American Legion Post 131 of Luling.

Services are today at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

STEWART

GARYVILLE – Ernest “Coud-de” Stewart, 89, a native and resident of Garyville, died Jan. 15. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Stewart, and father of Isaac Stewart.

He was also the brother of the late Tom Brown.

Services are today at 11 a.m., at New Hopeful Baptist Church, Garyville, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
