River Parishes Hospital recently named three more employees to leadership roles: Sybil Johnson, Nurse Manager of the Medical/Surgical Unit, Trina Calhoun, Risk Manager/Case Manager, and Jeannie Bourgeois, RPH Occupational Medicine Center Clinic Coordinator.

Johnson has been employed at RPH for over 18 years. She previously served as a Nurse Tech, a Registered Nurse, and a Charge Nurse on the Medical/Surgical Unit. She was then promoted to Assistant Manager of the Unit.

Johnson graduated from Destrehan High School and received a diploma in Nursing from Charity School of Nursing. She is ACLS, PALS and Chemo certified. She has over 20 years of nursing experience in the areas of Medical/Surgical, Oncology and Pediatrics, of which 13 are in a supervisory capacity.

“I know that my 20 years of experience will lend to the successful expansion and improvement of River Parishes Hospital in providing service to our customers,” said Johnson. “I look forward to helping the staff continue to provide quality service that our patients will recommend to their family and friends, and our doctors will feel comfortable referring their patients. I feel I can make this unit a place that employees will enjoy working and patients will leave with a positive experience.”

A native of New Orleans, Johnson currently resides in LaPlace with her husband, Michael and two of their children, Mikeal and Vaughn. She also has another son, Deldrick, who is married and has three children.

Calhoun has been employed at the hospital since May of 2000. She began her employment as a Case Manager and added the responsibility of Midas System Manager. In addition to these responsibilities, she will now serve as the hospital’s Risk Manager.

A graduate of St. Mary’s Dominican High School, Calhoun received an associate’s degree in Nursing from the University of New Orleans and Charity School of Nursing. She has over 18 years of nursing experience in the areas of Medical/Surgical and Neonatal Intensive Care.

“I am proud to be named the new Risk Manager at RPH,” said Calhoun. “New challenges and assignments keep me energized with my profession and career.” She continued, “It is gratifying to have the confidence of those who have mentored me and the trust of hospital administration. The sense of pride I have in this facility for the excellent patient care that is provided by the management team and my fellow employees, are the major reasons why I choose to be a member of the RPH family.”

A native of New Orleans, Calhoun currently resides in St. Rose with her husband, Bill, and their son Zachary.

Bourgeois has been employed at the hospital since June of 1999. She previously served as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department and on the Post Partum Unit. She received a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Nicholl’s State University and has over seven years of nursing experience, two of which are in a supervisory capacity. She also has over six years of business management experience.

“I see this job as a wonderful opportunity for professional and personal growth,” said Bourgeois.

A native of Lutcher, Bourgeois currently resides in Hester with her husband, Jerry Bourgeois, Jr., and their three children, Amber, Janie and Jerry, III.
