The LaPlace Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi has started their annual “Christmas Letters From Santa” project.
President Sandy Drexel explained, “Every year, the Beta Sigma Phi members prepare personalized letters from Santa and mail to children everywhere. The children enjoy receiving the letters, the funds are donated to a charity and everyone wins with this project.”
Letters will be mailed directly to the addressee in time for Christmas; deadline for ordering is December 16. The fee per letter is $2, and all funds raised through this effort will be donated to a local charitable origination.
To order your child’s “Santa Letter.” mail your child’s name and address and $2 for each letter to: Santa Letters, 1717 East Frisco Dr, LaPlace, LA 70068. Please enclose cash or check payable to cash. All letters are written in English. For more information, call 652-3447 and request Santa Letter information.
The ladies of Beta Sigma Phi sorority enjoy doing the project that helps others. Sandy Drexel said, “While the organization is a social one we also like to help others. We don’t raise large amounts of money but we host regular small fundraisers; our feeling is that every donation is important to a charitable cause.” The last charitable fundraiser project netted $165, which was donated, to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
