WSJ Rams slams Riverside by 58-9 tally

EDGARD – The West St. John Rams took another step toward another Super Dome appearance Friday with a 58-9 victory over Lakeside.
In the first quarter, Patrick Jackson scored on a two-yard run with Ignatius Howard’s PAT. Jackson then scored again on a one-yard run with a failed two-point conversion for a 13-0 first quarter lead.
In the second quarter, the Rams came alive and piled up the points.
First of all, Howard scored on a 40-yard run, Jackson scored on a 32-yard run, Juan Joseph connected with Tiarus Jenkins on a 50-yard pass for a score and Reginald Johnson snared an interception for a 51-yard return for a score, all in the second quarter.
Lakeside managed a 38-yard field goal by Jarrett Vaughan for the halftime tally of 39-3.
In the third quarter, Jackson scored again, this on a one-yard run, matched by Howard’s PAT toward the 46-3 lead.
Finally, in the fourth quarter, Javron Howard scored on a one-yard run and Joseph Thomas returned a kickoff 80 yards for a score.
Also in the fourth quarter, Lakeside managed a three-yard touchdown run by Keon Taylor, receiving from Walker Haynes.
All this resulted in the 58-9 finish for the bi-district win by the West St. John Rams, as they now advance to the regional playoff level.
