METAIRIE – Six vehicles were involved in two crashes Thursday night, one of which left one driver dead.

One driver, a Destrehan resident, was not involved in the fatality itself.

The site of the 10 p.m. accident was Interstate 10 at Clearview Parkway.

One of the vehicles involved **was a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Pal Bega, 25, of Destrehan. His passengers were Brennan bega, 6, Lacy Clayton, 13 months, Jolene Conlin, 51 and Michelle Conlin, 23, all of Destrehan.

Paul, Brennan and Michelle received minor injuries and were transported to East Jefferson Hospital.

Paul Bega was also cited for following too closely.

The wrecks shut down in both directions for several hours.
