Marathon sets emergency drill with EOC today

Marathon Ashland Petroleum’s Louisiana refining Division, in conjunction with the Parish of St. John’s Emergency Operations Center will be conducting a joint functional exercise to test and evaluate specific response capabilities and processes today.

The drill will test issues of communication, decision making, resource management and personnel accountability. This will occur between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. During this drill, the emergency horn will be blown in order to enhance the exercise. Please note that this will only be a drill and no response from the public is required.

A Storage Inn plans holiday food drive

LAPLACE – A Storage Inn is sponsoring a holiday food and donation drive, to begin Nov. 10 through Dec. 20, to benefit the New Life Women’s Cafe and St. John Ministry of Care.

Dropoff locations will be A Storage Inn at 2820 Highway 51, St. John Public Library at 2920 Highway 51, Dollar General Store at 240 W. Airline Highway, Donut Hole at 421 W. Airline Highway, Scores Bar and Grill at 1400 W. Airline Highway, Salon Menage at 232 Belle Terre Blvd., B&B Quick Stop at 2811 Highway 51 and First American Bank at 124 Belle Terre Blvd.
