BABIN
LAPLACE – Norman T. Babin, 75, a native of Paulina and resident of LaPlace for 42 years, died Oct. 28. He was the husband of Mary St. Martin Babin and father of Darlene Tarullo, Glen Babin, Diane, Wayne and Terry Mabile.
He was also the brother of William, Lynwood and Louis Babin.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 5935.
Services were Oct. 28 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
BURL
GRAMERCY – Howard Burl Sr., 72, a native of Mt. Airy and resident of LaPlace, died Oct. 22. He was the former husband of Margie Moore and father of Brenda Williams, , Bridget Williams, Vernon Alexis Sr., Celisa, Howard Jr., Minister Reginald Sr. and Graylin Burl Sr.
He was also the brother of Fabiola Mills, Herbert and Morgan Burl.
He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m., at Greater Golden Grove Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment at Golden Wreath Cemetery, Lutcher. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
THOMAS
KILLONA – Millie Mae Thomas, 77, a native and resident of Killona, died Oct. 23. She was the mother of Joseph Davis Jr.
She was also the daughter of the late William Sr., and Lucinda Thomas, and sister of Rose Reed, William Jr. and Melvin Thomas, and the late Gracie Mae Thomas, Ernest, Alice and Rosalie West.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 28 at Canaan Baptist Church, Killona, with interment at Greenhill Cemetery, Taft.
WHITE
LUTCHER – Michael White, 31, a resident of Lutcher, died Oct. 19. He was the father of Mishone, Michael D. Aand Mylon White.
He was also the son of Silas and Alice White and brother of Roxanne Lloyd, Vernita Graves, Andre and Anthony White, and the late Dennis White.He was also the grandchild of the late John and Annie Mae Cooper Thompson and Frank and Myrtle White.
Services were Oct. 28 at King Solomon Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Western Cemetery, Lutcher.
