DENHAM-LECOURT
LAPLACE – Marie Christine Denham-Lecourt, 24, a native of Camp Lejeune, N.C. and resident of LaPlace for 12 years, died Oct. 19. She was the wife of Jeffrey Lecourt.
She was also the daughter of Wayne and Karen Denham and sister of Emily Denham.
She attended East St. John High School and Southeastern Louisiana University.
Services were Oct. 22 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.
FEFIE
ST. JAMES – Rita Helen “Tot” Fefie, 62, a native of Welcome and resident of St. James, died Oct. 14. She was the mother of Bridget Silby, Cynthia, Anthony and Michael Fefie, and the late Wayne Fefie.
She was also the daughter of the late Alonzo and Beatrice Fefie, and sister of Doris Truehill, Theresa Zenon, Marilyn Sutherland, Betty Jones, Antoinette Skmmons, Mary, Odette, Clevenad and Joseph Fefie, and the late Annette “Skin” Spurlock.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She attended Magnolia High School and later earned her GED. She was a certified nursing assistant.
Services were Oct. 21 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery.
LASSEIGNE
GRAMERCY – Mary Hebert Lasseigne, 91, a native and resident of Gramercy, died Oct. 20. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Lasseigne Sr., and mother of Joan Guidry, Catherine Legendre, Errol, and the late Nicholas Lasseigne Jr.
She was also the daughter of Arthur Sr., and Edna Colon Hebert, and sister of the late Laura Bourgeois, Edna Mae Zeringue and infant sisters.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are today at noon at Most Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
WEBER
RESERVE – Odell E. Weber, 87, a native of Edgard and resident of Reserve for 56 years, died Oct. 18. He was the husband of Earline Zeringue Weber and father of Gwendolyn Becnel, Lorraine Pyne, Patricia Torres, Sandra Cambre and Odelle Weber.
He was also the son of the late George and Emma Barre Weber, and brother of the late Louise Laurent, Palmyre Kliebert, Noelle, Edgar, Icar, Edwin and Adelard Weber.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 20 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.
WILSON
RESERVE – Bessie King Wilson, 74, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Oct. 20. She was the wife of James Wilson Sr., and mother of Yolanda Joseph, Kitty Goudla and James Wilson Jr.
She was also the daughter of the late Elizabeth Jacob Brown and William Wolf, and sister of Brenda Ceasar, Catherine W. Jackson, Anderson King Jr., James Brown, and the late Jerry Brown.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Mausoleum, Reserve. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
