CHRISTIAN
LAPLACE – Joe A. Christian, 55, a native of Oklahoma and resident of LaPlace for 16 years, died Oct. 14. He was the father of Tara Coburn and Joe Christian III.
He was also the stepson of Carl Maier and brother of Rebecca Austin.
Services were Oct. 16 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at a later date.
CLAUSE
LAPLACE – Harry P. Clause, 87, formerly of Metairie and Paulina and resident of LaPlace for seven years, died Oct. 15. He was the husband of Vergeline Jeansonne Clause and father of Carmen Harber, and the late Lynd Clause.
He was also the son of the late Clema and Aline Blanche Ballowe, Elma Oncale, Henry and Alvin Clause, and the late Lennett and Edward Clause.
He is also survived by three grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 18 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at Lake Lawn Cemetery, New Orleans.
KLIBERT
RESERVE – Ronald Klibert, 66, a resident of Reserve, died Oct. 15. He was the son of the late Horace and Victoria Oubre Klibert.
He is also survived by cousins Shirley Duhe and Junior Remondet.
Graveside services were Oct. 19 at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
MIRE
RESERVE – Paul Michael Mire, 46, a native of New Orleans and resident of Reserve, died Oct. 14. He was the son of Jacqueline Tregre Mire, and the late Henry Mire, and brother of Vicki Pousson, Conne LeBlanc, Kevin and David Mire.
Services were Oct. 18 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.
RAYMOND
ST. JAMES – Dorothy Mae “Dot” Raymond, 73, a native and resident of St. James, died Oct. 14. She was the wife of the late Johnny Raymond, and mother of Gregory Raymond.
She was also the daughter of the late Alexander and Celeste Ferchaud Johnson, and sister of Earalst Cayette, and the late Alexander Johnson Jr., and Leroy Cayette Sr.
She is also survived by four grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 18 at St. James Catholic Church, with interment at the church cemetery.
RENTROP
KENNER – Frederick Morgan “Buffalo” Rentrop, 57, a native of Lake Charles and resident of LaPlace for 20 years, died Oct. 15. He was the husband of Zulemia Kay Pitts and stepfather of Marcia Dubroc, Craign, Chris and Keith Wesley.
He was also the son of Gladys Margaret Dufrene, and the late Morgan Rentrop, and brother of Judy Brown, Margaret Moore and Ralph Rentrop.
He is also survived by nine step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Serviceds were Oct. 18 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Kennery, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
RUTTAN
GARYVILLE – Glen S. Ruttan, a native of Atwood, Ontario, Canada, and resident of LaPlace for six months, died Oct. 17. He was the father of Bruce, Douglas and Nichole Ruttan.
He was also the brother of Elwood Ruttan.
He was a retired model maker and pattern maker for the automotive industry.
Services were private.
SYLVAN
LAPLACE – Clarence Sylvan, 81, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Oct. 17. He was the husband of the late Lilly Castle and stepfather of Harrison Davis.
He was also the son of the late Jack and Lillie Sylvan, and brother of Helen Morgan, Lawrence and Joshua Sylvan, and the late Melvin, Charlie, Thomas and Jack Sylvan.
Services are today at 10 a.m., at Providence Baptist Church No. 1, LaPlace, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
