BOURG
RESERVE – John “Buddy” Bourg, 78, a native and resident of Reserve, died June 29. He was the son of the late John and Denise Montz Bourg, and brother of Renee Catoire, JoAnn Beadle, Neil, Leon and L.P. Bourg, and the late Marie “Sis” Duhon and Laura Troxclair.
Services were July 1 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.
FRANCOIS
EDGARD – Herman “Bird” Francois, 47, a native and resident of Edgard, died June 28. He was the father of Mark, Fabian, Kerry, and the late Herman Francois Jr., stepfather of Lance, Michell and Catrice Mott, and fiancé of Debbie Mott.
He was also the son of George Francois, and the late Dorothy Pierce Francois, and brother of Leona Bailey, Moyna Numa, Franchester, George Jr., Nathaniel, Chalres, Bobby, Reginald, and the late Roland Francois.
He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Services were July 2 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery.
GAINES
EDGARD – Edward “CB” Gaines Sr., 81, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Edgard, died June 30. He was the husband of Dorothy Lumar Gaines and father of Heidi and Edward Gaines Jr.
He was also the son of the late Griffin and cornelius Gaines, and brother of Fannie Lewis. He is preceded in death by brothers and sisters.
He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services are today at 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
GREEN
BOUTTE – Missionary Audrey Mae Green, 59, a native of Boutte and resident of Luling, died June 27. She was the wife of Ulysses Green and mother of Marnika Fleming, Zarren and Derrick Green.
She was also the sister of the Rev. Gertrude Vaultz, Evangelist Bertha LeBeauf, Morris, Alfred and Kerry Brown Sr.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services are today at 11 a.m., at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Boutte, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
HICKS
KENNER – Sheryl Dupree Hicks, 44, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Rose, died June 27. She was the mother of Vernika Taulor, Spancina Pea, Frances Dupress and William Hicks III.
She was also the daughter of Francina Harris, and the late Willie Lee Dupree, and sister of the late Frances Dupree.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
Services were July 2 at St. Michael Baptist Church, Kenner, with interment at Providence Cemetery, Metairie.
JACK
MARRERO – Gladys Preston Jack, 91, a native of Moonshine and lifelong resident of Wallace, died June 24. She was the wife of the late Herbert Jack Sr., and mother of Orelia Duvernary, Mary Houston, Augustine Bastian, Shirley Dumas, Gladys Boudoin, Geraldine Cass, Gloria Bridges, Brenda Cox, Mildred Baker, Gilbert and Herbert Jack Jr., and the late Ruby Taylor and Catherine Graves.
She was also the daughter of the late Frank and Edith Preston, and sister of the late Matcolia Weber, Allen and Mullen Preston.
She is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were July 1 at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Marrero, with interment at Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale.
