The 34 member of Yvonne’s Directions in Dance has had a very exciting and busy year. The dance students have done an outstanding job representing their studio.

Along with competiting in regional competitions, the Dance Company is best known for their community performances. This year was no exception.

They entertained at the Norco Adult Day Care Variety Show, Destrehan Fall Festival, Veterans Day Program in St. James Parish and the Bon Fire Beauty Pageant. The company attended and “Rocked the House” at the following competitions: Access Broadway, Talent on Parade and Starpower. The students also furthered their dance knowelege by attending many workshops and the conventions: Such as Jeffry Williams Workshop held at the Dance Company Studio; Success America Convention held at the Airport Hilton in Kenner and Access Broaday Convention held in Biloxi, MS. Some students also attended the optional Company Convention held at the Coliseum in Biloxi.

€ MMC – tap small group 12 and under – Starpower: elite gold, first place division, second place high score small group. Acess Broadway: platinum, second overall high score small best group/variety. Talent on Parade: top first division, Disney award, Energy Plus award and overall high score second place small group.

€ Miracle – tap large group 12 and under – Starpower: platinum, first place division, first overall high score large group, first place Tap Excellence Award and Best Choreography Award. Acess Broadway: Platinum, first overall best group/variety. Talent on Parade: first place award.

€ Girl in the Band tap small group 12 and under – Starpower: elite gold, first division. Access Broadway: gold. Talent on Parade: top first.

€ Party jazz – Entire dance company – Starpower: first division, first overall high score line, first place Jazz Excellence Award and Best Choreography Award. Access Broadway: high gold. Talent of Parade: top first, third overall high score line.

€ Too Many Fish in the Sea tap small group eight and under – Starpower: elite gold, first place division, second place overall high score small group and Entertainment Award. Access Broadway: high score best small group. Talent on Parade: first place, third overall high score small group.
