The St. Charles Borromeo School Parent, Teacher and Friends Organization recently held its annual extravaganza at the school in Destrehan. The event, themed ‘Under the Oaks’ raised $30,000 for enhancements to the school curriculum. The top prize of $5,000 was split among the last five ticket holders. Event sponsors included Outback Steakhouse, Maurice French Pastries, Mr. Joseph M. Dempsey, Valero Refining, Campo Designs Architects, Joel T. Chaisson, II, Contractor’s Cabinet Tops, Destrehan Family Health Center, Entergy, Hy-Tech Roofing Service, Oil & Gas Rental Services, Zeringue’s Plumbing & Mechanical, Computer Performance, Destrehan Animal Hospital, Kev’s Kars, Ponsetti’s Shoes, Total Maintenance, Mr. Robert A. Chaisson, Hibernia Bank, Excellence in Labeling, Clyde ‘Rock’ Gisclair, and Mr. Gary L. Smith, Jr., Budweiser, City Wholesale Liquor, Coca Cola, Club 99, Crescent Crown Distributing, Magnolia, Southern Coffee Service, First Light of New Orleans, and Barberito Photographers. The Extravaganza was co-chaired by Sondra Berger and Alicia Windstein. Their committee members included Kent Berger, Michelle Detillier, Wendy Garretson, Kim Heath, Roger Juneau, Dawn Simoneaux, Traci Schmidt, Elisha Twiner, Bonnie Patureau, and Jeanne Kimble. The Class Baskets project was co-chaired by Kay Casanova and Ronnette Messina. The Decorating Committee was co-chaired by Mary Clair Hotard and Darleen Reynolds.
