Press Release

Dow employees recently celebrated Black History Month with an event that involved employees, retirees, community members and students. The event, which focused on “African Americans Making History Today,” featured a dramatic presentation by students from Destrehan High School, and musical selections performed by 4th and 5th grade choir students from G.W. Carver.

Highlighting the program was WWL-TV News Morning Anchor Sally Ann Roberts, and Leo Sherman, a pilot for Continental Airlines. MLK essay winners Erica Prevost (EJ Landry) and Sherri Taylor (Destrahan High School) were also recognized during the event.

In addition, a special honor was given to the site’s African American employees and retirees who are active in community service.
