Press Release

St. Joan of Arc is pleased to announce that the National Catholic Educational Association has named Harold Flynn and Toni Flynn as the 2004 St. Joan of Arc Catholic School Distinguished graduates. Harold and Toni Flynn graduated in 1972 from SJA.

The Distinguished Graduate Award was established by the NCEA in order to recognize that significant accomplishments of Catholic elementary school alumni are a hallmark of Catholic education. The award highlights “people who as adults put into practice the values and ideals they learned in their Catholic elementary schools”, states

Dr. Robert Kealey, executive director of NCEA’s Department of Elementary Schools. This year’s winners join a stellar group of hundreds of Catholic school alumni across the country.

The Flynn’s were chosen because of their commitment to St. Joan of Arc. As graduates, they continued their involvement by choosing SJA for the education of their own children, Matthew and Ellen. Matthew is also a graduate of St. Joan of Arc School.

Harold and Toni have worked tirelessly to help the school. Harold has served on the school board for six years, including three years as president and the Finance committee for three years. He helped begin the Junior Achievement for our students.

Toni worked for over ten years as a room mother. She has been a Home and School Association Officer and been a volunteer, always answering the call for help. Both Harold and Toni have also acted as the chairpersons for the school fair for over six years, and they are co-chairs of the 2004 fair.

The Flynn’s feel that Catholic education is the biggest mission of the church.
