Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Heier announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Melissa Kay Heier to Staff Sergeant Andrew Gerald Lutz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry L. Lutz of Akaska, South Dakota. The wedding will be solemnized February 7, 2004 at Southern Oaks Plantation, with Pastor David Sternhagen officiating. A reception will follow.

The bride-elect was graduated from Riverside Academy and received a bachelor of science degree in Marketing at Louisiana State University, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is employed by BE&K, Inc. as a proposal manager in Birmingham, Alabama.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. Rudolf Heier and the late Mrs. Emma Heier of Akaska, South Dakota and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beach of Nashville, Tennessee.

The prospective bridegroom was graduated from Selby Area High School in Selby, South Dakota and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1995. He is currently stationed in Jacksonville, North Carolina at Camp Lejeune.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Kumm of Watertown, South Dakota and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lutz of Akaska, South Dakota.

After the prospective bridegroom completes Warrant Officer Basic Course in Quantico, Virginia the couple will be stationed at a place to be determined later.
