Chelsea Troxler named Teen Miss Dance of Louisiana

The first two weeks of November will be a time St. Charles Parish resident, Chelsea Troxler will remember for a lifetime. The fourteen year old daughter of Charlotte and Lee Troxler of Luling was crowned the 2004 Teen Miss Dance of Louisiana at the LADM Annual Competition. Chelsea is a student of Duanne Cazalot, Samantha Sidwell and Angie Lehrmann of Dance Unlimited of the River Parishes. She performed a lyrical routine to “Walk Away” choreographed by Angie Lehrmann. Chelsea will now advance to the Dance Masters of America National Competition this summer in New York City where she will represent Louisiana. But Chelsea was not the only winner this weekend.

In the Performing Arts Competition, Dance Unlimited won two Over all High Score Awards and performed these routines at the annual LADM Awards Banquet. “Baby, I’m a Star” featured Alyson Wagespack and MaQue Hollins was named Top Duet/Trio and “In Heaven’s Eyes” won Top Large Line. Both routines were choreographed by Samantha sidwell. “Sparkling Diamonds” received third Over All High Score in group competition and was choreographed by Angie Lehrmann and Duanne Cazalot.

Dance Unlimited received five scholarships in the LADM Scholarships Auditions. In Petite, Ashleigh Keller won tap Scholarship and First Runner Up for Petite Miss Dance. In Junior, MaQue Hollins won the tap Scholarship and Kristen Bergeron won the Acro Scholarship. Kristen was Second Runner Up and MaQue won Third Runner Up. In Teen, Alyson Waguespack was the Over All Scholarship winner and Chelsea Troxler was the Over All Runner Up. Alyson Waguespack, daughter of Donna and Danny Wagespack of Norco gave up her title as the 2003 Junior Miss Dance of Louisiana.

Elections were held for the 2004 Louisiana Association of Dance Masters Board of Directors and two appointees are from St. Charles Parish. Duanne Cazalot was elected the 2004 Recording Secretary and Samantha Sidwell is now a Representative.
