BRODY-WILSON

NEW ORLEANS – Leona “Miss Tante” Brody-Wilson, 78, a native of St. James and resident of New Orleans for 50 years, died Dec. 26. She was the mother of Carroll Garrett-Lee, Sarah Bornes, Kevin Brody and Sharren, Glenda and Craig Wilson.

She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 2 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Park Cemetery.

DUHE

RESERVE – Edmond “Pos” Joseph Duhe Sr., 85, a native and resident of Reserve, died Dec. 31. He was the husband of Eva Songy Duhe and father of Theresa Johnson, Donna Burl, Amy Gayden and Edmond Duhe Jr.

He was the son of the late Jules Sr. and Angelina Lewis Duhe. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was a retired caterer.

Services were Jan. 3 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

ENGLADE

RESERVE – Clara K. Englade, 93, a native of Mississippi and resident of Reserve for 75 years, died Dec. 30. She was the wife of the late Roy Englade and mother of Evelyn Sutton, Betty Pitre, Lynda Smith and the late Jesse Englade.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 3 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.

FRANK

RESERVE – Welman Andrew “Jake” Frank, 52, a native and resident of Reserve, died Dec. 31. He was the husband of Lois Perrilloux Frank and father of Monica, Kyron Sr. and Kirk Frank.

He was the son of the late Mary Louise Gauff and Sammy Frank Jr. and brother of Marjorie Collins, Linda Ross and Roland Sr. and Leroy Frank.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

GEILING

METAIRIE – Anna Catoire “Belle” “Peewee” Geiling, 80, a native of Reserve and resident of Metairie for 58 years, died Dec. 31. She was the mother of Rita Barrette, Lois Bowers and Stanley Geiling.

She was the sister of Mary Abate and Alvin, Eldon and Philip Catoire.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Metairie Cemetery. Visitation starts at 11 a.m.

KIELY

METAIRIE – Joseph R. Kiely Jr., 75, a native of Jefferson City, Mo., and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 24.

He was the husband of Helen B. Kiely.

Memorial services were held Dec. 28 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, LaPlace.

LANDRY

GRAMERCY – Morris Joseph Landry Sr., 87, a native of Kraemer and resident of Gramercy, died Jan. 2. He was the husband of Marie Roccaforte Landry and father of Gerry Hotard, JoAnn Bland, Kat Bocz, Marsha LeBlanc and Bubby Landry.

He was the son of the late Valtroid and Aimee Trosclair Landry and brother of the late Mildred Trosclair, Enola Amato, Noline Portier and Anicia Bourgeois.

He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

LANDRY

NEW ORLEANS – Olide Joseph “O.J.” Landry, 92, a native of St. James and resident of Arabi for the past 56 years, died Dec. 27. He was the husband of the late Ethel Grob Landry and father of Larry, Nelson, Harold, Gerald and Daniel Landry.

He was the son of the late James Landry Sr. and Aimee Paille and brother of the late Aimee Jurado and James Landry Jr.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was a graduate of St. James High School and a part-owner of Gulf Soap Company. He started the Arabi Block Rosary Group and received the Order of St. Louis Medallion.

Services were Jan. 3 at St. Maurice Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment at St. Vincent de Paul No. 3 Cemetery, New Orleans.

LOVELADY

METAIRIE – Irene Burrow Lovelady, 80, a native of Cullman, Ala., and resident of Metairie and LaPlace for 46 years, died Dec. 31. She was the wife of Robert Lovelady and mother of Bobbi Diaz.

She was the sister of Edward Burrow.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 3 at First Christian Church of Greater New Orleans, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

OUBRE

ST. JAMES – Lillie Mae Weber Oubre, 87, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Dec. 29. She was the wife of the late James Oubre.

She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Mary Weber and sister of Jessie and Russel Weber.

She was a retired teacher in the St. James Parish public school system.

Services were Jan. 2 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Thibodaux.

OVERSTREET

LULING – Stanley Warren Overstreet, 71, a native of Roanoke, Va., and resident of Luling for 33 years, died Jan. 1. He was the husband of Mildred Vaught Overstreet and father of Jeannie Radosta and David Overstreet.

He was the son of the late Clarence and Lucille Reed Overstreet and brother of Charles and William Overstreet and the late Frances Gentry.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired mechanical superintendent for Petro Chemical.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Luling United Methodist Church, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

WHITE

GARYVILLE – Ophelia “Vera” Batiste White, 60, a native of Garyville and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 26. She was the wife of Edward White, mother of Anthony and Hampton Isom and Warnette and Shontel White and stepmother of Elaine Joseph and Shea Lewis.

She was the daughter of the late Will and Octavia B. Jackson and is survived by four brothers and five sisters.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 3 at Greater New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Garyville, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

WILLIAMS

ST. JAMES – Peggy Jones Williams, 43, a native of St. James and resident of Belle Rose, died Dec. 27. She was the wife of the late Theodore Williams Sr. mother of Pernell and Theodore Williams Jr.

She was the daughter of Louis and Maxine Joshua Jones and sister of Michelle Marshall, Orlean Morrise, Denise Miles and Romona, Ronald, Louis III, Terrence and the late Louise, Darlene and Pernell Jones.

She is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were Jan. 3 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, St. James, with interment at First Israel Baptist Cemetery, Belle Rose.
