Story caused pain in town

DEAR EDITOR: What a shame it is that the reporter who wrote the article (Dec. 14, A place called ‘Little Hope’) on crime misquoted Father Charles Caluda. The reporter does not know the damage from this one misquote has made. Many people will only read the first negative article and from that conclude the worst from that piece. The small retraction will be forgotten, but the damage has been done.

The reporter put such a negative spin on the interview. Was it to cause pain in the community? The comments that have been spoken are so contrary to this man’s character that I could not believe what I was reading. Having been a member of this man’s church for many years he has preached over and over in his sermons about love and not judging individuals. I knew in my heart when I read that first article that you can’t believe what is written and take everything with a large grain of salt.
