KNIGHT

PEARL RIVER – Kenneth George “Kenny” Knight, 73, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Rose, died Oct. 29. He was the husband of Murle Knight, father of Casandra Bennett and stepfather of Diane Bourg and Michael and Mathew Rainey.

He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 1 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Pearl River, Miss.

NICHOLAS

ROMEVILLE – Dwayne Anthony “Lulu” Nicholas, 32, a native and resident of Convent, died Oct. 23. He was the son of Gladys Nicholas Vancourt and brother of Vanessa Myles and Samantha and Dennis Vancourt Jr.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Romeville, with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Convent. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

PERKINS

BOUTTE – Eursula Alexander Perkins, 78, a native and resident of Boutte, died Oct. 28. She was the wife of the late John Perkins Sr. and mother of Joan Revader, Joyce Kalili, Judy Jacob and John Jr., Janet, Joseph, Jerry, Jimmy, Johnny and the late Jason Perkins.

She was the daughter of the late Richard and Eursula Alexander and sister of Joseph Jenkins and the late Estelle Gordon, Ollie Jenkins, Daniel Holmes, Harry Scott and Richard, Willie, Joseph, Manuel and Edward Alexander.

She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Boutte, with interment at Mt. Airy Cemetery, Boutte. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

ROBERTSON

METAIRIE – Willie Joseph Robertson Jr., 77, a native of St. Rose and resident of Metairie for 60 years, died Oct. 26. He was the former husband of Heddy Thomas Robertson and father of Phillis Magee, Hedda Frank, Patricia Moliere and Julius, Darryl, Kevin and the late Willie Joseph Robertson III.

He was the son of the late Willie Sr. and Florine Nelson Robertson and brother of Henry Robertson and the late Margaret Johnson and Olivia Robertson.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was a retired carpenter.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

TORRES

GARYVILLE – Joseph Torres Sr., 80, a native and resident of Garyville, died Oct. 30. He was the husband of the late Gertis H. Torres and father of Jane Ivy, Margo Kilburn, Joseph Torres and the late Brenda Comeaux.

He was the son of the late Wilson and Maria Zeringue Torres and brother of Audrey Schexnayder, Lynn, Wilson Jr. and Donald Torres Sr. and the late Alma Gorio and Murphy Torres Sr.

He is survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired machinist from Godchaux Sugar Refinery.

Services are todaty at 11 a.m. at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment at St. Peter Mausoleum, Reserve. Visitation starts at 9:15 a.m.
