HAYES

KILLONA – Gertrude Davis Hayes, 89, a native and resident of Killona, died March 8. She was the wife of the late Herman Hayes and mother of the late Whitney Sr. and John Hickerson Sr.

She was the daughter of the late Harriet Gray and John B. Davis Sr.and sister of the late Olivia Talbert, Clamonce Jackson, Nancy Alexis, Augustine Patterson, Milton Sr., Robert, Herbert and the Rev. John B. Davis Jr.

She is survived by two grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Children of Israel Baptist Church, Killona, with interment at Greenhill Cemetery, Taft. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

JOHNSON

MARRERO – Walton “Paw-Paw” Johnson, 75, a native of Edgard and resident of Marrero, died March 6. He was the son of the late Wimberly and Ester Johnson, and brother of Gladys Armand, Shirley Coburn, Alice Borne, Wilfred, Wimberly, Lucien and Herbert Johnson, and the late Wilberine Harang and Mildred Butler.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a former employee of Johns Mansville.

MARSHALL

GRETNA – Victoria Sullivan Marshall, 96, a native of Luling and resident of Gretna for 80 years, died March 6. She was the wife of the late William Marshall and mother of the late Elizabeth Sears, Mildred Moody and Katie Marshall.

She was the daughter of the late Simon and Elvina Jones Sullivan, and sister of Lucille Christian, and the late Alice Elliott, Stella Barconey, John Jones, Bertha, Mathilde, Mose, Mark and Simon Sullivan.

She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 40 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Services were March 11 at St. Paul Baptist Church, Gretna, with interment at McDonoughville Cemetery, Gretna.

MAYEUX

DESTREHAN – Adam J. Mayeux, 72, a native of Bordelonville and resident of St. Rose for 20 years, died March 10. He was the husband of 23 years of Laura M. Mayeux and father of Patricia and Linder Mayeux, and stepfather of Jerry Morrison and Karen Sizeler.

He was the son of the late Lionel and Emilie Mayeux, and brother of Winnie Chenvart and Mary Lee Hebert, and the late Dorothy, Joseph, Wildon, Arthur, Rodrick and Bernard Mayeux.

He is also survived by two stepgrandchildren.

He was a former employee of St. Charles Parish Public Works Department and Marse Welding Supply, a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifetime member of American Legion Post 195, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3267 and St. Charles Senior Club.

Services are today at noon at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

McMURRY

NORCO – Marguerite Perret McMurry, 96, a native of Reserve and resident of Norco, died March 7. She was the wife of the late Thomas McMurry and mother of Thomas, Courtney and Eula McMurry, and the late Lois Kaiser.

She was the sister of the late Jeanne Starr, Lolita Waguespack and Henry Perret.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were March 12 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Peter Mausoleum, Reserve.
