Army Pvt. Timothy R. Ballance has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Ballance, son of Donald L. Ballance of Lake Charles and Jannett M. Cancella of Destrehan, is a 2000 graduate of a home school program.

DIXON

Civilian Jay M. Dixon recently participated in the U.S. Naval Academy summer seminar in Annapolis, MD. Dixon, son of Debra H. and James M. Dixon of Destrehan, was one of 1,500 high school students selected based on his record and extracurricular activity.

HILAIRE

Army Pvt. QuaShana S. Hilaire has graduated from the unit supply specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va. Hilaire, daughter of Deborah S. Gordon and Lee M. Hilaire of Vacherie, is a 1999 graduate of West St. John High School.

Army Reserve Pvt. Jared J. Legaux has graduated from the computer/automation systems repairer advanced individual training (AIT) course at Fort Gordon, Augusta, Ga. Legaux, son of Noe P. Legaux of Norco and Cheryl D. Paige of Duncanville, Texas, is a 2000 graduate of Duncanville High School, Texas.

Army Reserve Pvt. Sarah Pagoago has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Pagoago, daughter of Carmen Ortiz of St. Rose, is a 1998 graduate of Destrehan High School.

PETERSON

Army Pvt. Miguel A. Peterson has arrived at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Ala., to complete the ammunition specialist advanced individual training course. Peterson, son of Michael A. and Lorita G. Peterson of LaPlace, is a 2000 graduate of St. Charles Catholic High School.

Army Pvt. Kendra D. Smith has graduated from basic combat military training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Smith, daughter of Laverne Smith of Killona, is a 1999 graduate of Hahnville High School, Boutte.

Kevin M. Taylor has joined the United States Army Reserve under the Delayed Training Program. He will report to Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C., for basic training. Taylor is the son of Melinda and Mitchell Edwards of Edgard.
